New foe in the Skywatch? (Destiny)

I had a "The enemy is moving against each other" in the Skywatch last night, and midway through a new alert popped up saying "Fall before Urzok the Hated". Then an insanely tough Knight showed up.

Is this new, or have I somehow just missed him before?

Edit: a friend tells me he just received an Eris quest to kill him. So that answers that question.

I saw that message a couple nights ago too. It seems Skywatch super battle happens more frequently now... (or maybe I'm just in that area more frequently).

I popped into the 'side room' for a breather/loot scout when the sneaky bugger, AND HIS CHUMS(!), spawned all around me. I left contrails as I beat feet out of there.

With a sliver of health remaining.
