Obsidian Mind + Bad Juju Build: looking for video... (Destiny)
by iconicbanana, C2-H5-OH + NAD, Portland, OR, Monday, December 15, 2014, 14:18 (3872 days ago)
Finally found some video of PvP for this build. Anybody have any crucible video yet?

Bad Juju is a less-than-ideal weapon in Crucible. I've found it fairly weak in the DPS department. The weapon that truly shines with Obsidian Mind is the Last Word, as the quick kills charge the Nova Bomb quickly, and it then charges itself on top of that...
then there's gear that causes grenade kills to charge Supers, which combined with the stupid Axion Bolts can help mop up anyone who survives a firefight...

I was thinking Juju would stack nicely with energy drain perks and that Obsidian Mind nova bomb ability. Assuming you played with pulse rifles anyway and landed a lot of headshots, or at longer range, I would think Juju would make it possible to throw Nova Bombs insanely fast.
I still have to get Obsidian mind to try it out with Juju, since I've had no luck with helmet engrams or nightfall.

Oh, it does, in PvE anyway. Obsidian mind also gives extra super energy for each kill, in ADDITION to the Nova Bomb recharge effect. I've been running it for the last few days. But I think Korny's right about Bad Juju in PvP. I just don't think it'll kill fast enough.

As a main I get that. If you were maining a shotgun or fusion rifle, though, and needed some range, it might play well for you. Pulse rifles in general don't get a lot of love in crucible, but I'd like to give this build a shot just to see how it would roll if I was maining on my Final Rest.

Amazing for the Super Kill Bounty in PvE

This is such an awesome helmet for the super kill bounty in PvE. Makes me actually pick it up now as a warlock.

Hadn't thought of that, but yeah. The frequency with which you can throw supers with this combo is astounding. That bounty shouldn't take long at all.
Check this video out. It's an extreme example due to the frequent spawns and densely packed enemies, but it gives you an idea of what Obsidian Mind is capable of, given enough targets:
That one isn't even using Bad Juju!
Here's another good one, in a more open (but still enemy-rich) space:
Note that their super meter is almost empty at the beginning.

Hunter has a similar armor piece...

There is an arm gauntlet for the hunter that does the extra super for minions of the dark. I have noticed my super is quick, will have to test it like this though!

Vex are evil who mess with time,
Hive are evil who are trying to drain all light.
Cabal.... are they actually evil? (I probably haven't read into them enough to understand)

It would be amusing if Cabal didn't charge your super faster compared to the Hive or Vex. Maybe they are just misunderstood space turtles?

I know nothing of Warhammer besides grown men painting figures and playing intense games with them.

Don't let Havok lead you astray. See, the Cabal started one lonely, rainy night, when a Grunt and a Lady-Brute huddled together for warmth in a cave. Mr. Grunt had brought some ale... one thing led to another... and BAM. Cabal.

There's an "I would have been your daddy" joke in there, but I can't find it.

They're highly aggressive and highly militarized but I don't think they're inherently 'bad'?
Based on the Mars Grimoire cards it just seems like they have a rigid, militarized culture that values things like 'how many barrels does your gun have' and 'lets blow up a mountain for fun'

So they are Americans?

Don't worry... Kansans love their guns too. plus I see alot of those 800lb, Highly Militarized folk that I know nothing about. I definitely try not to engage them when possible.

The wild thing is that Obsidian Mind has 2 abilities for it. It has a second one, "Insatiable", that gives extra extra super for kills with Nova Bomb, that stacks on top of that minions of the dark ability.

Yea i saw that, so not as good, but it was still going up crazy fast from the normal kills. I am upgrading it now, so I can use it in the CE raid.

To clarify...
by stabbim , Des Moines, IA, USA, Tuesday, December 16, 2014, 14:38 (3871 days ago) @ iconicbanana
What Obsidian Mind's "insatiable" ability does, specifically, is allow Nova Bomb kills to contribute to charging the next super. Ordinarily, when you throw your super the charge meter resets to 0, and whatever kills you got with the super do NOT charge it. With insatiable, they do.
One of the Vanguard helmets also increases super faster when you kill minions of the darkness.
