Weekend Iron Banner Tips (Destiny)

Hi Gang,

Here are some quick tips to help you out if you decide you want to hit rank 5 iron banner this weekend:

1) Pay for Tempered. Seriously. The bonus is enormous these last couple of days.
2) The Iron Banner bounty to get 10 kills in a row is totally doable. First, hang back a little. Keep another player between you and the front line. Second, it continues counting from one game to another, so if you finish a game merciless, and then start the next game merciless, congrats - 10 kills without dying bounty complete!. Last, garbage time kills count, so when a game ends, pop your super and kill someone who isn't paying attention anymore. Did I mention heavy machine guns? So much better than rockets for gathering killstreaks.
3) You get bonus reputation gains from wearing the class item, emblem, and shaders from iron banner, so if you got them in the past, wear them in the present!
4) The level curve isn't really noticeable if you're within 2 levels of someone, so a level 30 player is basically on even footing with a level 32 player (but also with a level 28 player... which a level 32 would have a considerable advantage over).
5) You will almost always be more successful playing with friends than randoms. Party up!
6) Cover choke points rather than control zones.
7) If you don't have Murmur, you may want to step into the early Crota quests until you get it as your reward - it's excellent in IB.
8) Don't panic if you lose a few games. The matchmaking is actually much better this time around, and the longer you stay in your lobby, the more likely you are to be matched with more even teams.

Good luck, guardians.

This is even easier when you realize assists count too! Use the largest explosion grenade you have and throw it in a group your team is fighting and stay back and safe, you can get it really quickly.

Really? I thought the charge time on Murmur was a bit too slow. But maybe I'm just spoiled by "The Calming" and "Pocket Infinity". PI is an amazing gun in the crucible, especially if you are playing on Firebase Alpha.

Firebase Delphi is the canvas on which the Picasso Infinity painted its Guernica.

It breaks my heart every time it glitches and fires like a regular Fusion Rifle with auto-fire, as opposed to the beauty that its auto-fire really is.

Pro Tip: Murmur's Arc mode has a faster charge time and lower impact than it's Solar mode. It's like two different Fusion Rifles in one.

Agreed, but it's better than not doing enough damage on the first shot.

That non-reset-on-new-mag glitch was the worst thing ever.

On a side note, I don't mind the gun jamming glitch. Switch out your special as soon as it happens and switch back. Find new ammo and you won't have the problem again. This problem also keeps other people from using it...and if you've ever played against someone who knows how to use it, believe me, you'll be grateful no one uses it much.

<sarcasm>Bungie had to do something to keep PI from being over powered.</sarcasm>

Seriously, I have no idea why I don't see it more often, I'm just glad I don't see it more often.
