So I entered the Crucible (Destiny)

After spending most of my time in PVP and developing grind fatigue, I finally spent some dedicated time in the Crucible. And actually found it to be quite enjoyable. Based on everything I've read, this isn't supposed to happen. What is wrong with me? Should I consult a physician?

Many of us find it enjoyable. As is everything with the Internet, the negative voices tend to be much louder than the positive voices. Just the way of the Internet in general. I have several times jumped in with 2-5 other DBOers for some matches in Destiny, and I actually really like Crucible. It's not quite like any other PvP experience.

I'm one of those 'negative voices' of whom you speak. However my voice is but a whisper. I simply refuse to enter.
Was sucked in once, used as a bullet magnet, and my team got creamed. Almost sucked in again, and I felt bad about abandoning the other player in the fireteam whilst still in orbit. I suck at PVP and generally bring down whomever I get matched with. I'd rather that not happen. As for Every Guardian For Themself, I'm usually prime target Number One since everyone else likes going for the 'easy kill'.
In short: Don't expect to see me there.

Oh it's not meant as a criticism, just a matter of fact about the Internet :)

I think it is just polarizing. It offers a lot of things that some players love that other players simultaneously hate. Pretty common for shooters, but there is enough there to bug me.

This is where I spend 98% of my time on destiny. I really love PvP more than anything and I'm sort of kinda highly competitive.
I'm rank 4 crucible + dead orbit from being there.
But.. My xbl gold ran out last night :( looks like I won't resume my killing sprees till jan
People tend to hate on the crucible because either, their not very good or they don't have/understand other players weapons.

Crucible is weird for me. I rarely play it, yet it's one of my favorite things about Destiny.
I don't like going in without friends, which really applies to any form of multiplayer gaming, but I'd say about 50% of the time that I do play it, it's without friends, so there's that... And it's not that I'm helpless without friends:
I just think that a huge part of the joy of playing any multiplayer is chatting and coordinating with a group of people that you enjoy being around, win or lose.
Another thing is realizing that you shouldn't try to have a one-build-beats-all approach to playing Destiny. A couple of weeks ago, I made a Hunter and slapped on the Symbiote helmet once it hit 20. I've had very little experience with the class, but I decided to arm it with an Auto Rifle (my least-used weapon) and sent it into the Crucible... It was a blast:
Mixing it up seems to yield a very different experience, so if you find yourself having a lousy time in the Crucible, try changing things up. Use weapons that you don't normally try, or hop in with a different character/class.
I've been away from Destiny for about a week, and the first thing that I did (After my Eris Bounties) was hop into Crucible with friends, using the Swordbreaker, which has very quickly become my favorite shotgun in the game. I wouldn't consider myself to have an aggressive playstyle by nature, but switching away from my beloved Sunsinger has brought that out of me, and I've been doling out shotgun fury like nobody's business. Just one week away and it feels like a new game, simply because the change in gameplay really hits you when you lose the familiarity of your comfort zone...
