Use the heavy, and don't die a lot. You'll make 40 points a game with a 1.0 k/d.

I was able to do it on CC's character with a green shotgun from Banshee and a purple HMG she had.

Personally, I prefer HMGs to Rockets, simply because I can eek out more kills for the ammo. But I'm a CQB player, and I like shotguns.

Your best bet, as we've tried telling Kermit, is going in with some friends, and either having them feed you the kills, or play control (still with friends) and stay near the heavy ammo.

The problem people have with the Thorn bounty is that they treat it like a race, and they race as the Hare instead of the Tortoise.

If you try to play games with void weapons that don't fit your playstyle, where the bounty essentially requires you to go positive, you are going to have a bad time.

Play normally, by situation, and take friends, which will increase your odds of going positive. Carry that void shotty around, and use it where applicable, but don't use it exclusively.

I got it the fastest on my third attempt on not even my character simply by playing my normal style, and then when the opportunity arose, going to town with the void weapons.

I've done this three times.

The first time (and most painful, as I was new to PvP) I used a blue void shotgun. I used this as if it were my primary. It took a really long time. I found that playing the smaller, confined maps was best, and at the end I realized I was better off leaving the more open maps and queueing up again.

The second and third time I had a void plug.one and void machine gun. If I was "on" with the plug.one it would be a 1 shot kill, usually at mid-range (out of shotty/wawrlock melee range at any rate). This helped tremendously. Any kills with the MG were just a bonus.

I also learned that if my team sucked I should change my strategy -- be much more conservative and strategic rather than offensive and risky. Always try to stick by someone, it splits fire when you meet an enemy, is a bigger distraction, changes enemy tactics, and overall is just better for staying alive. Which is very important with this one.

I did try to use atheon's epilogue some, but I'd die as often (or more) as I would get a kill, so I ditched that pretty quickly.

I have arrived at the PVP section of this bounty, and like most everyone, I've hit a brick wall. Not even brick, it's a full blown Old Russia giant barrier wall. I have one, ONE void weapon, and it's a shotgun. Using that, I've been able to get to 121/500, but I die far more often unless, ironically, I'm in a Voidwalker's face. But short of somehow stumbling across a nice void fusion rifle like Cody apparently has, I'm stuck! I have no idea where to go from here. Any thornbearers around with tips?

I posted a similar thread a while back, and would include a link to it if doing so wasn't so cumbersome on a mobile device. Look it up if you can; there was some good stuff in there.

I would simply encourage you with this: if I can get Thorn, you can get Thorn. No one is as bad as me in Crucible. Be patient, and play so as not to die... as often. For me, this meant using a rare void sniper rifle and staying out of trouble. When trouble found me, I switched to a close-quarters weapon in defense. Remember: kills with another weapon are neutral to your bounty progress; dying is not. Or, tis better to kill, than to not.

I also convinced a buddy (in this case my 11-year-old son) to be my bodyguard. He was fantastic at protecting his old man!

Check Banshee often. He occasionally sells void weaponry, and Sammy needed the bounty, but other than Corrective Measure, she had literally zero void weapons. I don't know how she managed to play the game for five months and somehow not have one...

So I decided to see if I could help. I bought a crappy Prost FR3 from Banshee (didn't even have a decent roll) and went to the Crucible.

As I said, I didn't have a Hunter at the time, so you can see that I screwed up a lot of stuff, and I used a much more conservative playstyle, so you'll probably have better luck doing it than I did if you're used to the class. Here are two games from that night, so hopefully you can pick up some strategies and tricks to get it yourself.

My main suggestion: Use a Machine Gun as a Heavy...

*Note that at 3:00 in the video, I sacrifice a Heavy Ammo pickup to swap to a Void. You gotta keep your eyes on the prize; regular kills won't help you in any way, shape, or form.
