Group Therapy for Those who havent Beat Crota HM

Starting a new Therapy group of people who have not beat Crota on Hard. Petetheduck brought this to my attention. Is it sad that I have not? I have made many attempts but never succeeded. =[

I'm highly amused that you followed through on posting this before me.

I'm hoping Xur sells heavy ammo synth tomorrow--I haven't tried Crota hard mode since I used my last synth what feels like a few weeks ago. I'd like to get in with Disciple & co but their group keeps filling up.

I'm petetheduck and 0 Crota hard mode kills.

The one we ran last week was great, how was last nights (those who were in), as it was too late for me? It still kind of boils down to luck, just because of the game breaking issues (like sword disappearing), but we consistently get close 1 or 2 times and then finally get it.

Note, don't worry about heavy ammo synth so much. Switch to Ice Breaker or a strong sniper, and 1 rocket + some snipes will take Crota down, just need to get used to the slightly slower timing.

The method works, just takes a few tries

I also, like Pete, have 0 HM completetions. It makes me feel less like a guardian. Especially when someone can complete it solo, and I cant do it with a full group. Its affecting my home life!

It's safe to start using lfg for Crota HM now. I did it in one try last week. This week took an hour (I blame swordbearer). Everyone knows the mechanics, so it's not too bad. Heavy ammo trick also makes it a lot more palatable.

You don't have to use No Land Beyond or Corrective Measure like he suggests - it just makes it more efficient.

Get your primary ammo down to exactly 30% (apparently NLB is good for this due to the very low reserve ammo capacity) and empty heavy ammo, then switch to Ice Breaker. Every kill will spawn a heavy ammo drop. Here's another video showing how to do it on the Crota's End strike from earlier this week:

This one is easier to do since Juggler is on, so the primary weapon can be totally drained and the auto-refill won't kick-in.

I'd like to get in with Disciple & co but their group keeps filling up.

I'd normally say create an event for any night after 8PM central and I'll be there, but I'm moving tomorrow so there's no telling when I'll be back on again. I'd love to run it with you once things are settled again, though!

Right now I can't ever really plan anything for certain, but March 6 my schedule will be shifting and I'll be able to do Destiny Fri/Sat/Sun evenings. So maybe I can coerce you guys into saving that week's runs for the weekend :D

Where's the group for those who haven't even played the new raid at all? I've messed around with the Abyss and even solo'd it once after learning about that old lamp explosion exploit, but that's all my Crota experience!
