Requirements not met? (Destiny)
So, I was ecstatic to see that Xur was selling Red Death, so I hopped on, made my glorious purchase, and thought I would give my new toy a spin.
To my surprise, when I tried to select a destination I found that I'm now locked out of all strikes and crucible. All inform me that I have not met the requirements.
I'm seeing the same with both of my level 32 characters even after quitting and restarting Destiny.
Any ideas?

Live/PSN subscription expire?
I know on XBL, you can't play strikes without gold.

Apparently just clicking on the activities repeatedly usually resolves this:

Wow, helpful info would be helpful...
Sorry about that. I'm playing on an xbox one with Gold. Everything was fine on Tuesday when I did my nightfalls, heroics, and a sweet 2-sword beat down of Crota on hard! =)
Requirements not met?
Hmm. I'll give it a shot.
Thanks!

Aight, I'm out of ideas.
Shut down the system.

If that works, it justifies every button mashing PC moment.

Ha! As if I needed justification to rage.

Ah, looks like it was the Gold renewal
I'm not sure why; it had my credit card info and had always previously auto-renewed, but I just now had to go purchase it manually.
Guess I should have checked that sooner, but this is my first issue with it in 10 years.
The last 13 months were paid for with two prepaid codes -- maybe that could have thrown the auto renewal off??
Okay, not Bungie's fault -- Gold renewal issue.

Booyah!
I'm seriously always wrong about this kind of shit.
and I was all ready just to blame Dennis Nedry!

Why auto-renew when you can get it for <$40?

I had the exact opposite experience. I removed all of the data that I could, and made sure that the auto-renew (which turns on by itself all the time, annoyingly enough) was off, cashed in a three-month code for Classic Customs in Reach, then let it die... Only to get charged a year's worth of Gold thanks to the auto-renew flipping itself back on again...
Anyway, got my money back (and got to keep the year for free), but I don't know why Auto-renew could turn itself off for you. You'd think they'd do everything in their power to keep ripping you off, considering you can get great deals on Gold online... (Like them on Facebook for a bit extra off on that deal).

I do use those pre-paid codes but had left the auto-renewal on for times when I forgot to load one up (like now).
I had my first pick of gamer tag when I joined and thought that an interruption of gold membership might put it back on the auction block.
That didn't happen this time, so maybe it's not a valid concern.
Looks like it's definitely not a valid concern
(at least at this point)
There are people who have been waiting years for inactive gamertags to become available again.
I guess my auto-renewal is going off... until it turns itself back on again... =)
