Learn Something New Every Day (Destiny)

I want to say thank you to all who ran the impromptu Crota's end raid on the 360 tonight. Very appreciative of that!

I learned a few new things tonight (mostly from SpeedRacer) that I hadn't noticed before.

1) Letting the Deathsinger begin her liturgy actually can make it easier to kill her. If you've waited that long, you've likely killed more Knights, Thralls, Acolytes, etc, so they aren't messing with you as much and then she stays in place, making her much easier to target. It had never dawned on me to wait.

2) Dying from the Oversoul will drain your super. I had never noticed that before.

Anyone else have a knowledge bomb dropped on them recently and care to share? I'd love to learn more things.

Want to keep it? Get killed by anything else. (As I recall)

Right, SpeedRacer suggested killing yourself with a rocket.

Today I learned that going to a hockey game can prevent you from participating in an impromptu Crotas run:(

But Hockey is Awesome!

I couldn't run with y'all last night. I was gonna take my first try at LFG and noticed there were more than 6 DBOers online. I sent out a message and there was interest so we did it. I still got a character to run it and my titan is now a 29 and now much more able to handle VoG and will soon be ready for Crota. More raids for Mower and the Bungie Killers!

Never apologize for hockey.

Hockey is its own reward. Hockey is the lifeblood sport. Hockey runs in the veins. I'm pretty much the opposite of a sports fan, but hockey isn't a sport. It's something greater.

When my family lived in Indianapolis, they'd go to the hockey games whenever they had the chance. My mom still has a bunch of autographs from the players, including a young man named Wayne Gretzky that she nabbed right after his first pro game. She describes him as having been young, skilled, and (disappointingly) still having had all his teeth or able to hide the losses well.

Thank you for the invite! You should have seen James's face light up when we got your message.

I learned that arc blade can go through the force-field walls while you wait for them to drop (after hugging the black crystal thing). Yet another tidbit from Speedracer. And yet another reason I need to explore that side of my hunter. If only I could give up the throwing knife...

Yeah! I forgot about that one. That's crazy. I didn't watch him do it since I was on the other side shooting, but guessing he was either doing the one that does damage in a radius (can't recall the name off the top of my head) or Razor's edge where you shoot a trail along the ground, right?

Yes, the one that travels along the ground.
