This guy just killed Atheon by himself. (Destiny)

Wut.
An unstoppable force and an immovable object. This man is the real Bruce Wayne.

What's really amazing...
is that you only get 6 orbs out of Atheon.
Also, if anyone still needs proof that Bad Juju is legit, there it is.

This guy just killed Atheon by himself.
Fantastic. The loop is pretty simple there, but the ingenuity to think of it and the patience to execute it for that long is really impressive.
Also: NO GJALLERHORN!!!
So... Throw grenade at Aetheon. Just before he teleports, die. After he teleports, self-res. Throw boatloads of grenades at Aetheon. Then kill harpies until your super is full (should occur just before next teleport phase). Repeat ad nauseum.

must use bad juju

This is one reason I still like VoG over Crota. There's no arbitrary time limit (or if there is, it's much longer). With Crota I feel like if everything doesn't go well from the beginning of the battle, we're doomed.

Atheon definitely enrages. IIRC, it's around the 10-minute mark, which is similar to Crota on Normal (Crota's enrage is actually 9:30 after the first person enters the arena area).

Well, there you go. It's probably due to the fact that I've played much more of the Vault of Glass that I've witnessed more victories snatched from the jaws of defeat.

The difference to me (specifically in terms of the Hard mode raids) is that about 80% of the Crota hard raid is standing around waiting, which makes things extra frustrating when there's a tiny little mistake that forces a team wipe.
Crota on normal is a blast. Hard mode is a giant pain in the butt, as far as I'm concerned (just the boss, I enjoy the rest of the raid).

Seriously, I wish there were viable strategies that involved hitting Crota on each side. I wonder if that was intended with Crota's shortened enrage timer.

I don't see any reason why on hard mode you can't say, go left side and just shoot the boomers and wizard, take a swing at Crota in the middle, then when he moves right do the same thing, but attack him on the right. Your sword carrier can jump up to the ledge and place Crota between himself and the boomers so he won't get hit.
Kill Ogres, then rotate to right side.
I've done this before, and while it works, the ledge middle strategy is the easiest, and safest. But perhaps not as fun. :-p
boy that was boring
Once you've worked out how to do it then you just have to repeatedly do it until you succeed.
Not exactly Mike Miller material.

Left side Hard.

I'd like to try it sometime. How vicious is that wizard on hard mode? I've never seen her.

Wizard is a Major, and will appear when the two boomers are killed. It's basically a sub for the knight that jumps down onto the middle.
She is easy if someone has Abyss Defiant. Disorient, send 2 rockets her way, done.

Crota's end helmet would be good
with the super regen perk

I mostly agree. Oh, and no one is Mike but Mike.
It was still impressive, but not really entertaining.
Not exactly Mike Miller material.
Yeah, but who is?

I could watch that type of gameplay all the time. Enough with the quadruple snipes no scope montages. I want more creative and cleaver gameplay videos of this ilk.
I just watched the legendary videos this last week and something struck me. Today, most montages and videos are cut to make the poster look as badass as possible. Mike Miller was badass, but he also showed his hand. The stuff he pulled off was amazing, but a good third of his videos actually showed all of the epic fails he went through to make his brilliantly-timed executions. I really appreciated that. In fact, it inspired me to be a more aggressive player and to try some of the things he did. I guess I just don't have as much patience for the self-aggrandizing style of today's videos*. It was a different era...
*I should be clear. It is fine to toot your own horn and I appreciate seeing people post their brilliant games here. That is a different beast than the 8 cuts of sniper kills that dominate the internet as of late.

I mostly agree. Oh, and no one is Mike but Mike.
People should totally include blooper reels at the end of their videos ala Jackie Chan.

Too bad we don't have higher resolution vids...
