DestinyRaider.net VoG Maps Page now up! (Destiny)

by CruelLEGACEY @, Toronto, Monday, March 16, 2015, 14:02 (3777 days ago)

They are far from perfect, but I've got a complete set of Vault of Glass maps posted over at DestinyRaider.net.
Hopefully they'll be helpful for fireteams who are still learning the ins and outs of the various encounters.

I've incorporated these maps into the complete VoG walkthrough as well, along with screenshots and dozens of videos.

Next on my list, as suggested by Speedracer, is to add some more specific info regarding the effectiveness of various weapons in the raid. Would you all rather see that worked in to the walkthrough itself, or should I add a separate page dedicated to weapon breakdowns?

You could copy an paste your reply earlier and it would be awesome. I think separately would be better, so if all you really wanted to know was load outs you wouldn't have to read through the walk through to find them.

Pretty awesome as usual! I would say the weapon guide would be good as part of it, but also separate. Like state it's recommended to have these guns, and an explanation as to why, then give example uses, then show why in the guide.

There are some recommendations I do have though.
1) Waking ruins, there is another stair case on the left sync plate that is not represented. I find that important because it is a limiting factor for the person down below to see back up.
2) 3rd Conflux puts the middle guy in sight of the Templar (at least how I read it)
3) The Gorgon maze just seems odd to me, not doubting it's correct, but it doesn't feel like how I thought it was shaped. Maybe some height indicators (think height maps). You have that with the "climb point" but idk, just feels off. Maybe I will try to do it myself and show you what I mean.
4) You have the hard mode static symbols, but none placed.
5) I think you are trying to tell people to goto the left portal after the gate keeper first. But you should have a text explanation here. I agree with that method, but it's not clear WHY you are showing it in that order. Maybe do Gatekeeper- left rotation, left portal gatekeeper, gatekeeper-right rotation, right portal gatekeeper, middle conflux rotation for the order of the images?

Really like the maps, they give a good sense of where people need to be instead of just a description. Don't know how precise you want to be with them, but I think the 6th oracle to spawn during Atheon is behind the pillar. Last night I remember leaving that one and using the relic super on the 7th cause i couldn't get a line of sight from the bottom.

What I think is the ultimate best set, in my opinion.

Spire: Word of Crota, Swordbreaker or void shotgun, Void machine gun.
Conflux: same.
Oracles: Epilogue, Foil, Void machine gun.
Oracles cheese: VoC, Icebreaker, irrelevant.
Templar: VoC, high impact sniper, high damage rocket (ideally gjallarhorn or Dragon's Breath)
Templar cheese: Same. (Might want to use icebreaker over exotic rockets here. It's a wash.)
Gatekeeper: same as spire.
Gatekeeper inside team: whatever, high impact sniper, tracking rocket launcher.
Atheon: Epilogue, high impact sniper, Thunderlord or similar legendary machine gun.

No WoC? Epilogue. No void primaries? For oracles, use VoC or use auto rifles, no damage reduction. All else, use whatever you're best with. No VoC? Use a scout where that is recommended. No foil? Use void shotgun. No void shotgun? Void fusion rifle.

Vision of Confluence, and Praetorian foil.

Vision of confluence is a scout rifle that does solar damage, and Praetorian foil is a long charging hard hitting solar fusion rifle. Both have oracle disruptor.

Oracles: Epilogue, Foil, Void machine gun.

I really have to disagree. With that set, you will be hard pressed to hit the snipers, and the minotaurs won't be easy to take out. Your set might work on normal, but on hard not so much.

1. Scout Rifle or a hand cannon. That way you can take out the snipers.
2. Found Verdict. Wrecks both oracles and minotaurs.
3. Corrective Measure or Gjallarhorn, take your pick.

I normally have a harder time with the minotaurs (if you keep moving a lot the snipers miss, allowing more time), so I prioritize them.

Most people are probably not as bad as I am.

That said, I don't like Found Verdict as oracle killer or minotaur killer. Takes too long for the minotaurs, like 4 shots, and not enough range for the oracles.

Also, not having a machine gun here I think is a mistake. Most of that fight is relatively close quarters, and machine guns do good on oracles. Corrective Measure is great, but Gjallarhorn is not.

It's 2 shots. Have you played since the shotgun buff?

Yes.
