On The Bright Side... (Destiny)
Wow, what a game! I kept bouncing from point to point on Shores of Time and about halfway through I got this nagging suspicion that my team only gained the lead when I killed people and only captured points when I myself was physically in the circle. Turns out that wasn't too far from the truth!
37 kills, 11 deaths, 3.36 k/d, 6730 points.
I beat the next two people on my team combined and my team was actually in the lead for a good bit of the game! I was playing awesome! My team... well one time I watched a guy come down the C tunnel... I shot him to death with my scout rifle... then right about that time my moron teammate finally noticed something was going on, turned around, and threw his grenade at the enemy's corpse. Way to go, rando! :p
Still, that was a lot of fun despite the loss. :)

That's rough... But at least your team stuck it out.
Sammy and I can relate to the feeling of having to carry randoms to victory...
Heck, I'd say there's something off with Trueskill...
I actually remember back in day 1, when I was like "Can't wait for Trueskill to start kicking in..." But, like all other aspects of the game, Bungie seems to have fallen asleep at the wheel...

The sign that some sort of TrueSkill math is failing is not that you have a lopsided game, but that your win/loss ratio isn't hovering around 50%. Any sort of matching system is only going to use an average ability, but some people will swinger higher/lower than average due to fatigue/alcohal/drugs/emotion/life/bounties. The system can't tell when it pairs you whether any one player will player higher or lower than their personal the average. Get a couple higher players in one side, low on the other, and it'll feel like the matching system failed. However, given enough games the tables should turn, and even out the previous lopsided game.
This doesn't mean that Bungies system is good, only that the evidense I've seen people use to prove it is insufficient.

Holy Smokes! Look at the other team! ***
How do you do literally nothing?! They all have the same emblems! Were they in party?! Did he play the whole game?!

Join-in-progress?
I once got dropped into a game where the only thing I could do is kill 2 dudes. Not even a Capture Point change-of-state. Perfect 2.0 K/D, but it sucked.

Maybe?

He was in for at least 2 minutes, because that's about how long you'd have to be in to die 8 times.

Nope!

Here you go. Avg. life was 1 min, 25 sec. Gotta be AFK.

10min of AFK or 10min of pure suck?

Gotta be AFK. Didn't even have a zone capture.

Right. Not even an Assist, ffs
I wonder why the boot-bot didn't catch it

Was wondering that too.

If he was in a party maybe it wouldn't have?

I think there was in fact an AFKer. Once I jetted between the back B and C snipping points trying to find the radar blip I kept crossing over. This player was either a master of silent evasion or was cheating... Oh... Or wasn't moving and had a shader that blended in... :p

If he was cheating, he really sucked at it. XD

I probably couldn't come up with that many examples of blowouts if I searched through all my Crucible matches. Maybe you need to consider that there isn't much Trueskill or Bungie can do if are at the top end of Destiny players... :)
I should stop posting from my phone

I'm a bad enough proof reader. I'm 10x as bad on a phone. gah!
