LOL. I knew what it was going to be just from seeing the thread title below this one. At least in your case you've got a reason to purchase a second one.

Ha, ain't that just the way :)
Same thing happened to me when Xur sold Mida Multitool a couple weeks ago; I got it from the nightfall just a day or two earlier.
Either way, congrats on the Suros!

This happened to me with Red Death, MIDA, Suros, Plan C, Last Word, and Gjallar... Nevermind the last one. That one is just to prove that my oracles are trolls.

Had a good chuckle when I saw Xur's wares this morning in the context of the blessing RNG bestowed upon you last night during VoG.

If you are referring to who I think you are, his posts aren't irrational, though I would agree if you called them irritating. He has legitimate points, the problem is that we've all heard them and he won't shut the hell up about them.
This person should also go play something else. That is clear. Go detox his brain.
<insert definition of insanity here, blah blah blah>
I've been sucked into BloodBorne lately, and a few new games on Wii U.
I love it. BloodBorne has effectively made me un-learn everything AAA gaming has been shoving down my throat for the past 5+ years.
I can say with 100% conviction that unless Jackie wants to get on, or there are six of you who want to raid, I have no desire or temptation to fire up Destiny. I can't believe that I'm saying this, but the person who is chasing that Hawkmoon (or anyone who's chasing any object in Destiny) is playing the game wrong.
If they want to have fun, that is. Chase fun. Not things. Don't think how much more "fun" the game would be if you had "object x"- This person complains about running the same stuff over and over again, but when they get that Hawkmoon, they'll just be running the same stuff over and over again....but with a Hawkmoon. So...............
.>
<.<
(Side note, I've had a few Suros' now over time and I've sharded everyone of em. I have one left, and next time I'm on, it's going to the space dumpster.)

I think you miss read a bit of the issue. There is not enough content, that's why running the same stuff over and over again sucks. Having Hawkmoon won't help that, or even really make it more fun, but it will "be different" and can be played different and it actually does create a slight unique experience.
That's my personal take on it, as I play different when I have Ballerhorn. I played the game for fun, but I wanted to try all the game had to offer, which is why I complained about RNG (which unfortunately is just the way the game is). It still does not have enough content, and getting the new weapons won't change that issue.

Oh sure it will be different, for 10 minuets :P

Lusting or coveting anything in Destiny that is managed by RNG is a sure-fire way to not have fun in Destiny. Take the rolls as you get them, and make the best of it, move on.
If the rolls aren't making you happy, the solution isn't to pull the lever until you win, it's knowing when it is time to go do something else.
Some people like making themselves insane, IDK why.

Legitimate points in the sense that he wants a game that is different than what Destiny is, which is a game that was designed in part around random loot drops, as has been evident since the E3 demo.
What I find irrational is all the energy and emotion tied to getting a single gun. As I've said several times, I can't relate. (I can relate to wanting a particular gun, but not to feeling bitter about not having it.)

^^ That is why he (and others) play the game wrong. Someone will probably argue that it's Bungie's fault for making the gun so attractive or alluring, as if it is "THE" gun to have in Destiny (I've tried one out, it's fun, but it's not be-all-end-all).
I'm not disagreeing with you, but having seen some DBOer's last weekend who've NOT been on the forum in months ask me if anything has changed post-wise on DBO the answer was a resounding "No".
Far too much energy is wasted lamenting this game that would be better spent enjoying other games, until changes are either made or new content is out.
HINT HINT.

I'm here because I'm still enjoying the game and don't want to put it down (plus, I like the community), and I don't think I'm alone in that.
It's kind of a bummer if frequent posters who are unhappy with the game have kept people who are happy away. I'd like to tell those people to come back. Don't let the complainers win!

Agreed, I complain (my post was not well received by many the other week). But I also still enjoy the game, just have slowed down (because of content, it just so happens I got all the exotics around that time). But other peoples opinions should never move people out of here, thats part of the fun of being part of a community. Stating your opinions and reading others. If there really are more who think the game is still fun, they should show up. The vocal minority should never be a thing.

I , for one, am far more exhausted by the personal attacks and bullying against Cody then by any of his criticism of the game, however repetitive or predictable people find it to be. Sometimes people rail against him in threads where he has never made a post (like, for instance, this one). It's hard to blame him for the negative atmosphere when his presence is not even required for it to appear. And complaints about the game will never be in the same category in my mind as complaints against a person in this Community.
Sorry if this feels like unloading on you, but it's not. It's just unloading. I've been holding my tongue on this for a while and it's no one person that it's directed at.

This applies in two directions. It's never been one person making these kinds of posts about the gun they want. There have been a large number of them, most of them innocuous, and when I say I can't get as worked up about it, and I can't relate to getting worked up about it, that's simply the truth. I don't view it as my personally attacking anyone.

Nah, utility = Value. I don't have 4th Horseman either, but I don't care at all since I'd never use it. Hawkmoon I'd use a lot I'm guessing.

How different would it be from any other good HC you already use? I mean, I can see it being slightly different, since once in a lifetime it might put out enormous amount of damage in a single shot, but even if you take a single extra-damage stack, how different would it really be?

For PvP, it's just that little bit better in every way. Not earth shattering, but enough of a difference to make it specifically desirable. For PvE, I think there are other equally useful hand cannons, and a few that are better.

My other big issue is that you were told you get this exclusively for a while. What if you don't get it? There becomes no reason to have the better version (granted you did have the map and strike but it's still a selling point to going with the PS4).
And I agree with you, this is about being able to experiment and try the different guns and how they handle/work.

Huh... That's a great point, actually.
I wonder why Bungie lets Xur upgrade PS4 exclusives, but not sell them? The functionality for his stock to change based on platform is plainly there...
(To clarify, Xur could sell the exclusives IN ADDITION to whatever other weapon is available. I'm not advocating that he sell totally different things)

Because then PS users would be able to choose between two weapons, which is more than Xur's supposed to have. There's nothing stopping them from doing that, except they don't want Xur to have two weapons for sale on any one week, fairly clearly.
You know, it might have been interesting for all the guns to be available every week, but it was the prices that were randomized. But that's pretty clearly not what Bungie was shooting for. Oh well.
