About that Osiris Gear
Well, the ancient Egyptians depicted their gods as having the bodies of men or women, but the heads of animals. It's no wonder than science fiction has changed "heads" to "helmets in the shape of heads." I think you'd be hard pressed to give helmets Egyptian flavor without looking like almost any other sci-fi egyptian flavor helmet.
