I'll be heading out next weekend to see the Paramore show, and I'll be driving, so does anyone in north Indiana, southern Michigan, or Chicago area that weekend want to meet up and say howdy?
I fully expect nobody to be on my way.

Ah man, I just moved from Chicago out to Boston last Fall. Oh, and I'll be online again now, was gone for the past two weeks after that Crota run for Star Wars Celebration. :)
Was that thing fun?

I didn't even hear about it until it was already going on.

Dude, it was amazing. We were hanging out with some old friends, which is a treat itself, and we spent a few days on the beach in Carlsbad before hand. Not only that, but because they're so much cooler than us and build super cool robotic R2D2s we got to tag along to a bunch of fun things. Here's me with Roxy the Rancor right after they put her together before they opened the event. :) Plus, cosplayers and stormtroopers wandering around every for four days. Highly recommend it! I have no idea why I came back to Boston after SoCal.

Not I, but enjoy the show. That woman is, without a doubt, one of the greatest rock vocalists who's ever lived.

I will! Thanks for the well wishes!
You know, I feel a real connection to Paramore I don't with other bands. Not because I know Hayley Williams like I know Avril Lavigne (I don't), and not because they're from my hometown and I've loved them my whole life, like Bob Seger and Ted Nugent (they're not, and I haven't), but because we grew up together, sorta.
Hayley is a year older than me, so we were both just kids when I first saw them at the 2005 Warped Tour. I saw them at the next one, then again in 2007 with Jimmy Eat World. By this time, Misery Business had come out and I thought they hit it big. I was able to see them on their headlining tour (stealing my parents' car to do so and getting me kicked out of the house for two weeks) in 2007, and I haven't missed a concert tour since then.
I didn't have very strong feelings about their first album, they were just a band I liked. Then their second album, Riot! came out, and I loved them. Every record they seemed to have a bigger song and more success. I thought they were big with Misery Business, then I thought they were big with Decode, then I thought they couldn't get any bigger than The Only Exception, and boom, now they have Still Into You and Ain't It Fun. I can't wait to see what they do next, but no matter how big they become, they're still going to be those dudes performing on the dumpy stage at Warped Tour who signed my and like 3 other teenagers' records, at least to me.

I remember I bought their first album back in '05. I think I'd heard one of their songs on a Warped Tour compilation, and happened to see the album at Target or something. Then I bought Riot! right when it came out. And then, as often happens with me, I lost track of them. Not through lack of interest - it's just that your brain can only hold on to so many things, you know? Anyhow, by some coincidence it's just been in the last few weeks that I realized how far behind I was and decided to catch up - I bought Brand New Eyes and I think I've reached the point where I've learned that album. I'll pick up the next one pretty soon.

Ok, I don't know much about them, or even listen to them, but apparently they're from here in Nashville. I guess because they're down in Franklin I haven't heard much about them. I usually hear odds & ins about the famous folks on this side of town. Haven't heard much about them.
