Say you want to get to Enceladus from Venus. Line up the ship and hit the hyper-drive, then sit back as the 'Saturn map' loads up. It spits you out of light speed near the planet, with the landmarks like moons and ships highlighted. Since they are still fairly far away, they aren't completley loaded and are roughly detailed, like in real life. Then you are free to jet off to your chosen moon, while closing in the full terrain loads, and then while breaching the 'atmosphere' near a landmark, it loads the fine details of the location. This makes sense to me Bungie make it happen!
