I Did It...I Finally Did It! (Destiny)
I know this is old and done to death, but it feels fantastic to have done it myself. Using my Hunter (of course), I managed to solo the Abyss section of Crota's End!
I had been working on it for at least 2 months--my Warlock could never cut it, the fat bastard...
So I had to beef up my Hunter like CRAZY. Every single training ability that could increase my agility, I chose and stuck with until it was maxed ALL the way out. And on top of that, I equipped myself with the MIDA Multi-Tool. On top of that, I switched Field Scout with Lightweight, so I could run even FASTER. But I still had a lot of work to do. With Bladedancer(Stalker, Shadowjack, Escape Artist) and Don't Touch Me(not quite fully completed), I was only a 30, meaning Cursed Thrall could still 1-shot me. And every corner I turned, there they were! Even jumping over them wouldn't help. Speaking of jumping--I can't even tell you how many times I jumped--either fleeing or leading--and literally finding myself unable to land, floating stuck in a literal sea of Thrall!
I always, always, ALWAYS took the wrong turn at Lamp 13, and ended up dropping down to x9 or 10, and having to account for that screw-up by crouching at 14 and screaming "WHY AREN'T I TURNING INVISIBLE!!"
So when I finally got to 15, I jump on that rock, and try to switch back to Patience and Time--nope. I usually end up dead, somehow--I'm guessing by the Ogre. I eventually got to the end last night, and got ready to kill said Ogre with my sniper--only to find out there's only three bullets in the entire weapon. I had to hide, and most of the time I was followed while invisible to my death. But I got lucky last night, and when the bridge activated, I ran like all hell. When I finally got my reward--a Dogged Gage!--I turned around, and popped Thrall coming my way until Special Ammo popped up, grabbed it and killed the Ogres from a long distance. Did you know the Knights follow you all the way up, too? Heh.
I managed to finally kill them all, and achieved my dream--exploring the Abyss as a whole. No Weight of Darkness, no quadrillions of Thrall, brightness at 7, and nothing to worry about. It. Was. Incredible. I had no idea how small the place really was. I know, the 3D map and such, but I had no idea that it was just this tiny. I mean, from the final plate, you can actually see the torches of Light!
I don't have any video of this unfortunately, I didn't expect to get on my first try. However, I did decide to snap the most inspirational screenshot I could think of.
Very proud moment for me.

Good job! :)

Awesome sauce. The easiest way for me at the end is to step on the plate, hide behind a rock and crouch invis, run to another rock crouch invis, use my super for invis, run across. Save your blink for a last ditch effort, and keep a rock between you and the ogres.

I Did It...I Finally Did It!
Congrats! It's no walk in the park. Don't Touch Me is a nice safety net, but even that's no guarantee - more than once I've tried to use it and had a few too many thrall hit me at once - dead.

Sounds very cool. Like seeing space mountain with the lights on. I read this whole thing thinking I would never do this until I read this part.

Congrats
Now, if your buddies are anything like mine you will have to solo the maze for them at the start of every hard raid :)

Congrats
I like to let the Hunter go ahead trying to solo and as soon as he/she hits the 4th or 5th lamp, go ahead with the rest of the group, killing as many enemies as possible.
Not only does it make the Hunter's job easier (since aggro will be all over the place), if he/she, by chance, dies to the Ogre, the bridge will keep on building and Weight of Darkness will lift when we're already a very far way through.

Yeah that works
I used to skip all the lanterns on the way up just to facilitate that strategy. Lately I've been taking my non-raider friends through just so they can have some elemental primaries for the night fall. Since they are all 31s it is best if they stay put at the start. In those cases I'll use the lanterns to speed things up. 90% of the time it works every time.
