RNGesus Smiled Upon Me Last Night (Destiny)

I've played a lot of Iron Banner this week. I got the helmet on all 3 characters, and I levelled my Titan to 5 for Timur's Lash. Yep, I Played a lot of Iron Banner. But no matter how many games I played I just couldn't get a Silimar's Wrath to drop.
I gave up on it last night and went to a gig instead. Motion City Soundtrack, if anyone knows them. But when I got home I couldn't help but try again. Drunk Crucible isn't easy, but fortunately Kermit rescued me with a weekly that gave me time to sober up a bit. 4am, it's time to go to bed. " One more game". I lost. " Okay, one more win". Another loss. On the verge of giving up I got dropped into a game of Twilight Gap. A real rough game too. Super aggressive opponents with a good defence on B. But we won. Just.
And that's when I see in the bottom left corner. "Lichtonatus (that's me) found Silimar's Wrath".
At last, I got it. Now I only need Skorri's Revenge, Perun's Fire and 4th Horseman to complete my collection.
"Lichtonatus Found 4th Horseman"
What? What!? I didn't even know you could get two legendary+ drops at once in the Crucible. But my Exotic collection is complete, and I almost have all the Iron Banner gear. Just I time for HoW. I'm a very happy camper.
Tl;Dr - I got my last exotic and a Silimar's Wrath at 4am because I don't know how to go to bed like a normal person.
Nice!

Awesome. I can't wait to try out that 4th Horseman! Love it?

Its awesome. No range though, and heavy recoil

Feels good though. Point it the bad men and make them disappear.

One of the muzzles greatly increases the Range (and by that, I just mean "less terrible"), and I think it has a stability perk. It's pretty crazy out-the-box, though. I love it. Just point at their knees and let the gun turn them to mulch.
Also, congrats! 4th Horseman was also my last exotic.

I thought this said MC5. Man, what I wouldn't have given to see those guys. I might have even left the earplugs behind, consequences be damned.

I managed to see them in the 2000s. Kick out the jams, MFer!

They're not as wild as they appeared to have been in the 60s and 70s and they didn't have Rob Tyner (though Handsome Dick is pretty good), but it was awesome. If the Grande Ballroom wasn't closed 40 years ago, fallen into a state of disrepair, and hosted the show then it would have been the ultimate time.
Now I just need to see Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen, Iggy Pop, Frijid Pink, ? and The Mysterians, SRC, Bill Haley, Del Shannon, The Rationals, Rare Earth, and Destroy All Monsters for a complete Detroit rock live collection of experiences. Some of these are necessarily impossible.

I don't know who ANY of those people are... Not even ringing any bells :-)

My boss and I talk about the old theater all the time.

This building is now a parking structure. C'mon D-town *smh*:
At least Bootsy is coming to Portland in June.
Awesome parking structure though

Actually now that I think about it, that's the old Michigan theater. Too many awesome old buildings that have fallen into complete and abject disrepair in old town. Christ, Zeppelin played at the Grande! Pink Floyd! Howlin' Wolf! Goddamn disgrace.
Look at the Michigan theater before and after:
Destiny might as well be about Detroit.
Old Russia, or West Lafayette and 10th? You tell me.
To be fair, they still use the Michigan building as office space. But they ripped up that theater for parking. Awful. Also, sorry for changing this post 20 times. Now I need a drink.

Worst part: being reclaimed by hipsters.
by Funkmon , Wednesday, May 06, 2015, 14:27 (3735 days ago) @ iconicbanana
Hipsters moving into a neighborhood is actually not bad usually. Because of them and yuppies, one of our long time vacant skyscrapers, the Book Tower, is getting redeveloped.
Hipsters also turned the Cass Corridor into a decent neighborhood when it was one of the worst parts of the city...however, they sometimes cross a line in Detroit.
For example, I have been to four parties at the Packard plant.
Some of the people throwing the party actually lived there. I think they finally got kicked out last year, but they just moved down to another closed plant and abandoned buildings. Why won't they get a job or move into a neighborhood to try and help the city legitimately? It's not "authentic." 100% of the people I'm acquainted with living this lifestyle aren't even from Detroit. They just want to have the street cred; it's why C&A in Europe sells Detroit branded shirts and bags.
They actively oppose the gentrification of certain neighborhoods, and they oppose redevelopment of good land and real estate because it's full of ruins. Recently, Michigan Central Station (pictured) had a redevelopment announced. They threw a complete fit that the owners of the building are putting windows back in.
Come on, dudes. Let the city heal.

Send the hipsters to Zug Island.

They can have it. As is.

Heck no, they still make money there! Give em Pontiac.

Can we deport our Seattle hipsters there? That would be great. We have a large infestation here...

Round Island's from Somewhere In Time.

Not as bad as expected, considering. My ears are still ringing though haha
Invest in good earplugs, dude. You'll thank me 30 years.
I'm not interesting enough for that

I think it's the second gig I've been to in just under 3 years.

Not to be a downer, but did you know that one exposure to extreme volume can give you tinnitus? I fear that I'll get it based on my youth spent standing next to speakers that were larger than me. I've got friends who have it, one who has a severe case, and it's driven her to depression. Tinnitus sucks.
Awww, man :(
