Worst part: being reclaimed by hipsters. (Destiny)

Hipsters moving into a neighborhood is actually not bad usually. Because of them and yuppies, one of our long time vacant skyscrapers, the Book Tower, is getting redeveloped.

Hipsters also turned the Cass Corridor into a decent neighborhood when it was one of the worst parts of the city...however, they sometimes cross a line in Detroit.

For example, I have been to four parties at the Packard plant.

Some of the people throwing the party actually lived there. I think they finally got kicked out last year, but they just moved down to another closed plant and abandoned buildings. Why won't they get a job or move into a neighborhood to try and help the city legitimately? It's not "authentic." 100% of the people I'm acquainted with living this lifestyle aren't even from Detroit. They just want to have the street cred; it's why C&A in Europe sells Detroit branded shirts and bags.

They actively oppose the gentrification of certain neighborhoods, and they oppose redevelopment of good land and real estate because it's full of ruins. Recently, Michigan Central Station (pictured) had a redevelopment announced. They threw a complete fit that the owners of the building are putting windows back in.

Come on, dudes. Let the city heal.
