Standing by it won't help people that much. I have been waving a couple times in front of it so that others know to come to me. Then I sparrow off to another area so that I can re-open it. It's a bit silly to go to orbit...

I have determined that 80% of Destiny players are a-holes. I've played 12 of the Queen's Bounty Wolf Pack missions and have a dismal 50% success rate of finding the chests. When I find a the chest I stand next to it until it disappears or everybody that was playing finds it. The other 80% of Destiny a-holes find it and then goto orbit or sparrow away, leaving everyone else to scramble around.

There seem to be about 4 potential spawn points in each area, I'd recommend tracking down the maps on the Destiny Reddit and getting the general idea.

I always make it a point to wave when I find it, but yeah--we're all running off so we can open it multiple times. I have SO MANY blue engrams. I need MORE.

Yesterday, we did the one in Forgotten shores, and a guy was jumping and waving by one of the known chest locations (which happened to be pretty far from where the target was killed). We rushed over, to find he was just screwing with us.

One of us found that chest before the timer ran out, but the other couldn't get there.

So yeah, some players are a-holes, and even if someone WAS standing by a chest location, I'd no longer consider that to be useful information.

And I have now done this 20 times or so. Everyone has pretty much stood by it and waved.

One time, the player who did not make any indication that he had found the chest received a Legendary Engram from it, so we all received the message. :p Got there just in time.
