I believe the reset just happened. (Destiny)
Or my internet went out. Both plausible.

So what's happening with the Queen's Wrath today?

I believe the reset just happened.

We are pushing a patch for Destiny. Players will be kicked from activities and required to download the update.
Farewell, chest farm
Though assuming the Venus timings stay the same you can still get twice as many rewards there as anywhere else.

Farewell, chest farm
We loved you well...

No change to chest opening observed yet
Just watched a Twitch guy still use the chest exploit after the patch. Could be something weird, but there is nothing saying that Bungie actually removed the exploit.
I'm still not sure if they will be patching this out. I think Bungie knew about this exploit when they released the patch, and I'm not sure they can even remove the exploit in so short a time.
Here's what Deej had to say on the matter

@scottkeira13 There is a preview in the last batch of notes. No changes (should) be detectable until manual activation tomorrow.
Looks like no changes. Just a maintenance patch :D

Another round of Wolf Hunting tonight, I think so...

Definitely still works.

The lust for keys is real
Or in Rev's case, Spirit Bloom.

I believe the reset just happened.
Lol.

I only got one last night......I need moar...

Thanks for the confirmation!

AND keys are still spawing in the chest. Nuff said ;)

comfirmed: still can chest farm today
Just did it in skywatch

comfirmed: still can chest farm today
Do the rewards seem to be about the same and the same amounts, or have they changed?
(like, a few engrams and mats, or a key and an engram, or glimmer and mats etc)
New Nightfall debuff (Extinguished)......
Could be fake or speculation, but it looks weird.
I just watched a video here:
http://xboxclips.com/Malcxlm/476f8afa-4eac-4b5e-bc6e-bd8ef33ce424
And now that video is gone.... I'll update this if the clip comes back. Anyway it looked like a guy failed the Nightfall somehow and then was not allowed to re-enter. But it looked like you needed to spend 3 Motes of Light for a "Blessing" from the Speaker to retry the Nightfall....
Edit:
Here's the video https://account.xbox.com/en-us/gameclip/476f8afa-4eac-4b5e-bc6e-bd8ef33ce424?gamerTag=Malcxlm&scid=37770100-f9ae-...
This experience is NOT showing up for other players.

Same stuff

That could get annoying.

I AM INSATIABLE.
I think I might spend some quality time on the moon\Russia and try to balance it out a bit.
I sure hope I can trade some of this for Iron O_O

I AM INSATIABLE.
Seriously, what are you going to do with all that? You're never going to have that many weapons and armor to upgrade.

Calling it now: this is a totally unintentional change.
Exhibit A: Bungie hasn't mentioned anything about this anywhere, but that it wasn't in the patch notes is especially damning.
Exhibit B: Nightfalls have functioned the same way for 9 months. Why change it now?
Exhibit C: The change reeks of "old" destiny, where destiny's loot systems were much more punishing. I think this was a system they were trying out before launching, and scrapped because it's incredibly tedious.
I AM INSATIABLE.
Are your synths stacking up too fast also? I read someone complain that you can't discard them, but am not sure it's true as it's never been a problem for me.

It's true.
You can prevent them from piling up by filling that inventory with some telemetries though.

MAYBE. I might have a problem.

MAYBE.
This is my mule character. She is full of engrams too.
My original plan was to just cash in the engrams and then delete the 3rd character, thus deleting the many, many ammo synths I don't need.
I'm not 100% sure on that though, I may keep her around for a bit, store more planetary mats with her.
Bluerunner, I have NO idea what I'll do with it all. I'm hoping for some kind of material exchange. If I could trade blooms for sapphire wire, I would be so happy.

It's true.

Just remember to be careful with earning keys though- apparently they can get overwritten with engrams if you let them go to the postmaster.

Sounds plausible.

I just make sure to always have a key on me. Vault 4 when you reach 5

Yeah, I feel like they would have at least alluded to making Nightfall harder in HoW if they were planning it. I hope you are right, I still really enjoy soloing these and I think the difficulty level is just fine as is.
You know what...
You could get it by leaving a Nightfall Strike. Thereby removing the ability to leave the Nightfall and rejoin in a Fireteam. Hhm, I could see them wanting to remove that.

+1 (If it's intentional, this is why)

MAYBE. I might have a problem.
I figured you must have a pile like that. I just got to play the events for the first time last night... I see how you got hooked!

You know what...
That seems very plausible. Hopefully it distinguishes between a disconnect and just quitting.
Cruel unannounced HoW change?
Planetary mats will no longer exist. Players will be given one glimmer for each material they possess.
(This is why they're letting us [Rev] collect so many so fast. Would be good in the long run, but I'm so excited to have a stack of 200... this would sting!)
that seems unlikely.

That seems unlikely to me. This isn't like a bit of script left in a C# file that was accidentally included in a merge somewhere. (as was the description of the encounter bug). You've probably got multiple flags and checks in code for the player, and in their DB entry, DB entries for the speaker selling the motes, the debuff, and adding it to the debuff rotation.
It also goes along with Bungie using consumables to buy into things. IE: Buying passage and buffs to the trials of Osiris and the POE treasure keys.

Deej's response
Don't panic. Ghosts in the Machine. Investigation activated. More on this soon.
In the meantime: https://youtu.be/GLHJFIhuJ_8?t=1h4m4s

How would it?
Xbox, turn off. Yes.
that seems unlikely. (and im' wrong :-p)
sorry, see BlueRunner down below.

You know what...
Well, at least in the world of PCs, typically there are specific commands and functions that take place during a clean shutdown (either an application or the whole machine). It could be detected.
Yanking the ethernet cable from your XBox could also be detected, depending on how much access Destiny has to monitor system functions. The XBone itself knows whether that cable is connected - you'd be better off pulling something further upstream like your router or modem. Word of warning, though, modems take a surprisingly long time to start back up. Your teammates have probably gotten too brave and wiped by the time that happens. :P

Someone had to program this. The code doesn't spontaneously appear. That means someone thought it was a good idea to add. It's not. Not at all.

Deej's response
Ok. So given that response, I'd say this is possibly something that was being tested but decided against, or at the very least something that isn't supposed to have been released yet.
TBH I'm not sure if I care that much. I acquire motes much faster than the rate at which I fail nightfalls, so I don't see this making much practical difference. Most weeks I don't fail one at all. Not saying I'm amazingly skilled, it's just that most of the time I'm running with groups who don't all die at once.

Calling it now: this is a totally unintentional change.
Yeah, it's not like they just fall from the sky constantly for no reason, leading to comically large piles of unused motes! Wait...
I'm not saying I like the idea. But I see it holding us back about as much as commendations did - i.e. not at all. Thought I suppose in a way, that in itself is an argument for not bothering with this system.
*shrug*

You mean like a system they tried out and scrapped?

You didn't even read my damn post.

Still uneasy. I NEED MY GALLY

The 3 mote bounty is more important if this goes live

FYI there is new "Queen's Favor" bounty from Petra
If you complete all the Queen's bounties you get another called "Queen's Favor" which instructs you to go to the Reef. I'm wondering if you will need to complete all the bounties in order to get access to the Reef story missions. I'm guessing not based on the bounties having level 30 enemies and the story missions starting sub-30.

Yeah. This could be the start of a side quest, though. Something along the lines of the Urn of Sacrifice.

There's got to be something in the regular tower redirecting people to the reef. So this makes sense. Whether it's petra long-term though is the question. Redirecting you to... herself? =)

CONFIRMED: Awoken mess with space-time continuum

FYI there is new "Queen's Favor" bounty from Petra
I think she'll be recalled to the Reef and replaced with someone else...
Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
Weird. Must not be a quest line or anything. Could it be a special drop? Or extra rep or something?

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
Well, I feel validated. Last night I made sure to finish the kill bounties and pick it up on all 3 characters. At the time, I thought it probably wasn't time-limited and I was just being paranoid, but better safe than sorry, etc.
I would guess you're right - most likely extra rep. A little something for those who participated in the lead-up, but nothing that's ultimately going to give them an edge others can't attain. At most, I'd expect a reward package style thing - random assortment of engrams or something.

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
Man, I hope it's just something that got messed up with the weekly reset. I finished all of the kill bounties with two of my characters, but only picked it up for one of them.
-Disciple
Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
Ha, cause I need more Engrams
On a serious note: Petra still has the 6 Wanted Bounties. Maybe you'll get another chance this week?

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
I'm missing it on one of mine. I got up early this morning to turn in the last bounty, but didn't get a reward. :(

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
I wouldn't worry about it too much. All I got out of the first one was some spirit bloom. LOL
On the bright side one of the legendary engrams I saved up turned into a HoW Dead Orbit shotgun, which I reforged (my first time doing that) into a pretty kickass thing to fill the void shotgun role my Titan has been needing (he's still been rocking an old 300 Comedian until now).

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
I ran home at lunch and loaded it up to make sure everything was working. I only had time to do engrams on my hunter. I got that same shotgun and a Vanguard auto rifle that looks very similar to Shadow Price. Most of my engrams are on my other characters so I'll turn them in tonight

Update: You can no longer get the Queen's Favor
Are they the same six? There are ~26 Grimoire cards for House of Wolves bounties. Maybe they rotate?
