Do I need any new HoW legendary armor? (Destiny)

by DreadPirateWes, Tuesday, May 19, 2015, 19:15 (3720 days ago)

This morning I got a few new 36 light legendary armors from packages and there was no reason to be excited about them. Sharded them after a minute or two of thinking. It was a bummer! I've got boots with heavy ammo and the rest of my legendary armor effects I don't even notice most of the time. Sadly, I'm thinking that I probably don't need any new legendary armor. Please tell me I'm wrong and there's something new I need to hope for in HoW (besides etheric light).

PS I don't really care what I look like.

I don't think Bungie will up the ante

They may diversify the perks, or make certain things powerful in niche use cases, but I don't think we'll be seeing armor (or weapons) that are "holy moly gotta have!". At least I hope so, I'm tried of there only being one* real "go to" set of armor that everyone, their mother, and the dog are wearing.

*yes, I know there is crucible gear that could get you to 32, but people rarely used it.

The New raid gear looks like it has some useful PoE-centric bonuses!

Hmm, I guess this is a nice step and I just haven't looked at the PoE loot like I did with TDB. So now we don't have to acquire vendor armor, level it up, acquire raid armor, and level it up. The downside is that we don't really need to purchase anything from vendors.

BTW, can we buy weapon parts anywhere now? I'm running low!

my current Modus Operandi:

-Find uncommon primary, special and heavy weapons

-complete a 5000 exp bounty or two 2500 exp bounties

-equip all 3 found uncommon weapons

-turn in bounty(s)

-dismantle all 3 uncommon weapons for at least 9 weapon parts.

I do this all the time

I'll often save a complete blue set for every slot so when I turn in all my crux* bounties I can mass dismantle :D

*crucible

I tried this, but Blues seem much less efficient. A blue weapon requires 3-4 times as much exp, and you can only get a max of 7 weapon parts.

Turning in 8-10 bounties is more than enough xp to do it but, I'll bare the greens in mind :)
