I assume you're talking about the level 32 stage?

My group had luck standing in the far left corner on the walkway that borders the arena. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or not but the third time, each wave of Hive would not spawn until we defused the mines, making it much more manageable.

Other tips: titan bubbles, sunsinger rez, gjallarhorns. Stay in that left corner until mines spawn, prioritize wizards and then boomer knights above all else because they will ruin your life.

Stand on top of the mines, and be invisible.

HavokBlue had the right idea, that back left corner is where most of the team should stay. Have a bladedancer cloak and go get the mines. Think of it like the old ME3 strategy for capture points. The cloaking player goes and gets them, and the rest of the team should be engaging the enemy elsewhere.

The bladedancer should be using, at a minimum, escape artist and shadowjack. Having the super set for cloaking will also help, and maybe even equip Don't Touch Me. They won't survive more than one thrall melee, but if that one thrall melee gives them a cloak long enough to run to the next mine, it's a win.

Not to say that it's easy even with that strategy. It must have taken us 10 tries. Half were mistakes and half were just shenanigans. One time I was cloaked under a mine and a knight just barreled through and pushed me off the ledge. I couldn't re-cloak in time and the timer ran out. Boo.

And if you think your pain is over once you get past that stage, think again. LOL

That part, I have done three times.

I have also hung out back left, like the others that commented. Burn those enemies with arc primaries. You should prioritize taking out the wizards super fast. I think this is the most important thing. Of course GHorn, or other solar tracking rockets will do the job. If you do not have that, you should maybe go for a hard hitting arc sniper to take them out (I have used efrideets spear for this). Call out the boomers.

Defenders and bladedancers are good for dismantling, yes. But if you do roll with a sunsinger you can really spam solar grenades (because of the grenade modifier that round) so you do not get overwhelmed, and radiance/fireborn will also buy you time while dismantling.

It took several tries, but I had a team manage to do that last night with a 34,33 and 31. We would camp the first round in the extreme left corner of the map, and right after the first round my Hunter would run over to the far mine spawn, while the Warlock would go to the middle spawn and the Titan on the close spawn.

We could clear the first mine before anything but thrall spawned, and that player would drop back once his mine was clear. Several times though we lost the Warlock in the middle and I would have to cover it with my invis hunter. We would wipe if the Hive decided they could see me while invisible, or if enough thrall ran up to the mine point that they kept bumping me out of the circle, or the two close spawns would occur and I would have wizards and knights chasing me around the far mine spawn and couldn't get back on it in time.

Titan bubbles on the far points can work as well. The close mine spawn has a spot where you can crouch and not get hit by the wizards or knights. Run along the low inside wall on the other side from the pool, the one that goes by the entrance, to get back.

The guys not on the mine point should not be shy about using Gallerhorns, Hunger of Crota or arc Launchers on the wizards.

You can stand on top of them or, the most useful, imo, stand on the ground-floor even for mines on second-story. IIRC, there's one for every area that can be exploited that way.

This is the one I have had the most problems with so far as well. There is a trick to this however but i cant remember who showed me.

Basically there are two entrance ways for enemies that are on the same wall as the entrance coming from the airlock. One to the left at the bottom of the steps near the place everyone camps, and there is another door similar on the right side.

Basically you do the first round legit and leave one thrall ideally. then have one person get above each door. So you will have 2 people sitting on the doors and a free third person.

Once set up kill the last enemy you left alive.

This SHOULD keep enemies out. Usually 3 or 4 thrall will get through. DONT FREAK OUT! the people above the doors MUST stay up there. Also the third person MUST NOT get too close to these doors.

From here you just dismantle the bombs, then everyone run to the camp corner, kill all except one, repeat the process. I wish I had a video or pictures but I dont. If you have questions ask, otherwise ill record next time I do it.

This has worked many times for me, but its a little glitchy. Sometimes it works flawlessly, other times I can only get 1 or 2 mines before enemies come out. EITHER WAY, just getting even 1 mine with no enemies helps out tremendously, especially if it is the middle mine.

Let me know if you have questions!

Has worked every time for me, all 3 players run to the left corner. Do the first wave, kill the thralls that initially spawn in waves 2/3, dismantle mines in peace until you activate the doors.

Or just go to the far left of the room.

by TheeChaos @, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, 11:45 (3706 days ago) @ ProbablyLast

I would have to see this. I have an idea what you are talking about but when we go to dismantle bombs they come out before we can get to middle/far right bomb. They just dont come out other than that. Unless we are doing something wrong.

My phone is being awful, or I'd link a video. Basically just run directly from the spot to the mines and avoid any of the spawn doors. Then after getting all three you can go activate each door individually.

People I play with usually go along the pipe on the wall to get to the far right mine. The middle one I can usually just run to without issue.

Edit: Not a pipe, I guess. Just along the edge of the arena.

Or just go to the far left of the room.

I tried the cheese approach with Chaos last night and it worked a treat, but I've also had a lot of luck with just staying left and murdering everything. If you can kill the big targets fast enough you can avoid the rest fairly easily. It's almost a DPs race like Ir Yut.

Added bonus is that sometimes the enemies still don't spawn, but I dont feel guilty about it because it wasn't the intention. Yay moral grey areas!

You only need one person on top of the right door

by Kahzgul, Wednesday, May 27, 2015, 13:39 (3706 days ago) @ someotherguy

Found this by accident last night and it's hilarious. The enemies all "target" the guy above the door, and they don't come out (or, if they do, they stay directly below that player). Dismantle all mines in peace, and then go to the far left corner to kill the enemies as they come out.

We had one guy above the right door, one guy on the ribbing of the wall directly opposite the first guy, and one guy in the back left corner, but I'm pretty sure the only guy who mattered for the cheese was the door creeper.

That's interesting. One time we did have a group of enemies get stuck in those doors, although none of us were nearby at the time - they apparently got stuck on their own in that instance. Didn't realize there was a way to force it.

We actually stood in our cover spot for quite a while waiting for enemies to come over, and I briefly thought the enemies had just failed to spawn.

after spending two hours on the 34 level Arc Burn Hive last week. I am fine cheesing this as much as possible. The only thing more soul crushing than this was getting stomped in ToO for 3hrs straight.
