Bungie.net Memory Leak? (Destiny)

by unoudid @, Somewhere over the rainbow, Friday, May 29, 2015, 14:58 (3708 days ago)

Not sure if I'm alone in this. for the last week or so, whenever I go to bungie.net to look at my character's stuff (ie, view a weapon) the website crawls to nearly a halt. load times become unbearable and I have to close the website to resume anything on my computer. Is this happening to others also?

Yeah, happens to me across all browsers, but the worst in chrome.

I've only noticed it for the last week or so.

It always felt like that to me.

Yeah. I find any time I'm looking at a 3D model and want to inspect an item, I have to quickly switch tabs after clicking, or my computer locks up.

It's always been like that for me

But I use the PS4 browser, because I'm an idiot.

Bungie.net does not work for me on the Legend pages unless I turn off WebGL. It just freezes the entire browser tab and that's it. Perhaps try turning off WebGL on your computer? You lose the fancy April Fools dancing models... but the site becomes useable...

What does that even mean?

I can be internet dumb a lot of times

It's a rendering API, essentially.

I have the exact same problem. The site is completely unusable unless I turn off WebGL.

I disabled WebGl in Chrome and relaunched it. The 3D models are gone, but my computer still locks up when I try to inspect my gear. :/

If you guys have problems with bungie.net, please post in the #Help forum on bungie.net under #BnetIssues. It is much more likely we'll see that kind of thing and get it filed.

Obviously crashing your web browser is not intended behavior. :)
