Fallout 4 thingie 25 mins!! (Destiny)

Watching it count down.
Because I'm a loser.
Edit: Reveal trailer. I'm legitimately too excited.

The Reveal Trailer! *VID*
I'm excited to only see the PS4, Xbox One and PC logos at the end of the trailer. I was worried this would be a cross-gen title and that we'd all suffer for it.

Yeah, I'm really interested to see how big of a world they can achieve without having to worry about last-gen systems.

Me too. Looks gorgeous, new, and familiar all at once. Can't wait. Fallout is my favorite game universe. You heard me.

Someone check my pulse. I'm not excited.
I've been playing these stupid games my whole life. Fallout is my favorite ongoing series besides Halo. I even played Tactics and that game on the PS2 that was super weird.
I just don't care about this trailer. Looks like Boston, so we get to see what's going on in The Commonwealth, but these previews don't make me excited at all.

You are mostly justified in that thinking. This teaser really didn't provide anything to get excited about, other than "new Fallout" and "Boston". I guess dog physics if you're into that.
But hopefully come E3 we'll learn a boatload about the game and will get a target release window and that will help to feed the engines of the hype train.

I hope it changes the game a bit more than just the location. Fallout 3 felt like Bethesda just slapped Fallout onto Elder Scrolls and something about character control in Elder Scrolls has never felt right to me. I hope this isn't just Elder Scrolls: Online re-textured and re-written.

I'm sure it isn't. But yes, Fallout 3 was Oblivion with guns
Hopefully Fallout 4 will be the bedrock for the next Elder Scrolls game. I also enjoy the piss out of those games.

but... Oblivion with guns is great!
As long as you don't use the "freeze time for aimbot" function

Voice acting?
We hear what is presumably the player character talking to the dog at the end... Do we think this Fallout will be fully voiced? That might be fun, though with the voice acting of Elder Scrolls/Fallout in the past...

Someone check my pulse. I'm not excited.
Mostly what it does is simply confirm what we all suspected: Fallout 4 is, in fact, a thing. That in itself is exciting. Although one could argue that the "please stand by" image they posted yesterday kind of did the same thing.

Voice acting?
I don't think that can be assumed from this trailer alone. It might be the case, or it might not. Just because that guy saying something to the dog felt right for a cinematic trailer being viewed in 3rd person doesn't necessarily mean anything for the game itself.

Oh, come on. Are there just not enough FPS games out there that the existence of a little bit of turn-based combat offends you so?

+1
V.A.T.S. was pretty damn cool, imo

So much hype. Many tears of joy shed
No, seriously. We hugged.

Voice acting?
Can't not hear Troy Baker at the end. Great use of Ronnie P., too.

I 100% believe this.

Agreed completely.

Hopefully the rumors are not true
The rumor mill says that this game will not allow you to select a gender and will force you to play as male (as if they couldn't go the Mass Effect route and hire two voice actors).
I'm not opposed to having a voiced protagonist, but that raises another question about the stats system. In previous fallout games, you could totally sabotage your intelligence, which resulted in dialog choices that were bumbling doofus level. This would not translate at ALL to voiced conversations unless they recorded multiple versions for each tier of intelligence. I'm just hoping that they aren't planning on a total overhaul of the stat system, as that is one of the things that has always made Fallout so S.P.E.C.I.A.L.!

Hopefully the rumors are not true
I hadn't thought of this, but I totally agree. Having all the special options available for selection was one of my favorite things about the games. Personally, I think that the sheer number of options available would preclude having a voiced game...
But then, this is current gen only...?
