PoE 35 could use checkpoints (Destiny)
by Cody Miller , Music of the Spheres - Never Forgot, Friday, June 05, 2015, 04:06 (3701 days ago)
My internet went out during the end of the 4th round of the level 35 PoE. We had spent about 45minutes playing up to that point. So now that's gone.
If I were Bungie, I'd implement checkpoints that are saved, but only for the original fireteam. The higher level PoE can easily take longer than a Raid playthrough. The ability to resume play is no longer considered a luxury in game design anymore - it's a given.
Did you guys find a replacement and beat Skolas?

We got Otto to join, but he had the exact same problem. Router reset twice, no joy. Tried a 33 pal of mine, but it was too little too late.
I'm starting to think Skolas has weaponized glitches.

Anyway, for Chaos and Otter tomorrow, I have a decent idea of what to expect. Be sure to put a good arc fusion rifle on your characters.

Has anyone been saved by the "auto reconnect" feature PoE supposedly has? I was sent to orbit during a LFG PoE and nothing. I was able to rejoin when they invited me back, but there wasn't even an attempt by Destiny to get me back into the game automatically.
Bungie said they didn't want checkpoint sharing in PoE. Checkpoint sharing isn't a real problem that needs to be fixed, or at the very least needs to be fixed by removing checkpoints. Bad Bungie.
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and thinking it's a technical issue they didn't get resolved--but hopefully will...

That feature only exists in ToO.

Wow, I even went back and re-read the announcement BWU and somehow this entire time my brain replaced ToO with PoE.
Because "..disconnections are going to be especially frustrating in PoE.." makes a lot of sense.

It's also probably true for Trials, and the rest of the game. Here's hoping the reconnect feature proves itself helpful in Trials and is rolled out to the rest of the game soon.
