New forms of cheating in Iron Banner? (Destiny)
I've noticed a couple of weird behaviors in Iron Banner this go around and want to know if anyone else has seen these. All of these, with the exception of "lag switch" behavior, are things I've never seen in PvP before this week. Also, my connection is goddamn amazing; there's no lag on my end:
- The "red scope flare" for zoomed in snipers appearing on the right foot of enemy players instead of near their head. They can stand with their feet behind cover and snipe you without you ever seeing the scope flare.
- Players whose character is constantly ducking throughout the entire time (like, standing, ducking, standing, ducking), even while sprinting, changing weapons, jumping, etc. It's way too regular to be actual button presses, and looks like animation glitching half the time (more like the guy is constantly in a loop of the "standing up" animation which resets to fully crouched every time it finishes).
- Lag switchers being more prevalent? It's hard to tell if players who never take damage are lag switching or just lagging, but I've found that I'll run into a party of 3-6 players and all of them will have the same laggy behavior while other members of the game show no issues.
- Incredibly bunchy bullets. Several times in different games I've seen a guy hit me with 3-6 bullets all at once, as soon as I saw him, and then animate each individual shot after I died (with no bullets firing). This may be lag switch related? Not sure. The characters don't seem to be lagging at all in terms of movement.
- Endless super and grenades. A void warlock I was up against would throw a grenade, super, throw a grenade, super just over and over and over. He was using Bad Juju and had Obsidian mind on, so maybe he was just nuking loads of us and this wasn't a cheat, but it sure seemed impossible from watching him in my death cams. None of his teammates were creating orbs.

I've not personally expirienced any of these and my connection can be questionable at times.
That last point is entirely plausable, especially if the rest of his gear was Max intellect and discipline with juju and OBS mind

Huh.
I thought I had seen a sniper without the flare yesterday on Shores of Time sniping me at B from A. Since he died to a counter-sniper on our end, I didn't give it much thought.

This has been my experience also. The glare hits the ground after the sniper has died. This has really thrown me off a few times.

I've seen the "pulse" effect on Thorn and some other weapons. I've also had my blade dance melee attack completely fail to do any damage even though the sound effect triggered. I had one titan stand there as my razors edge hit him twice, his shield didn't budge and he just walked up and punched me to death.
I've also had blink strike completely miss, moving me right past an enemy player who then turns and kills me.

I've seemed not notice possible lag-switchers on many occasions in this IB. It's something I've never experienced in the game before.

I've had some bad lag stuff happen to me, too. For instance, sometimes if me and an enemy are shooting at each other from cover, my bullets will hit him and not do as much damage, then when he shoots at me, the bullets will track through the wall or floor(or sometimes, entire maps) and damage or kill me.
This one guy--I reported the hell out of him, regardless--he had a Lord of Wolves or something. Now I know that the rate of fire can't possibly be that high, with all that lag, but every time he killed me, I swear to God, I heard that gun go off AUTO RIFLE fast. Like, Atheon's Epilogue fast. Again, it was standb--I mean lag, so it probably looked a lot more rational to him. And comical.
Also, emptying entire clips into someone and they don't even take damage--sticking someone and the grenade simply disappears(classic Halo), all that stuff.

Just kidding, of course.

Reminds me of the nuttiest things I saw in this game. On VoG hard mode, we were wiping once, Claude was the only dude, so he ran up to a full health Praetorian to die. He ended up punching the Praetorian to death on accident. It was amazing.

Was it faster than this?
Or was it just this and it felt super fast?

Looks like more of a close-range pulse-rifle then a shotgun.
