Less Sensationalist: Very Fast Golden Gun Recharge
Did anyone notice an abundance of Scatter Grenades this IB and ToO?
How about some unbelievably early Golden Guns? (I know Cody, Chaos and I ran into one in the first minute of a game, from a guy with zero kills)
Turns out this isn't a coincidence. With the Ashes to Asset perk equipped (Achlyophage, Nighthawk, Ahamkara's Spine) each individual grenade particle that hits an enemy (or explosive environmental object or even dead body!) gives a significant Super recharge - you can fill your whole Super with one grenade!

Hoping this gets fixed, but in the meantime I thought I'd at least let people know so they know what to expect.

I wonder if he is also using the gunfighter perk. I prefer combustion in that column, but if I could get a GG back that fast I'd def switch. I hate those grenade types though.

Me too. It seems fun in theory, but you have to get the throw SO CLOSE to the target in order for the tracking to work that it just doesn't seem useful. I mean, if I'm going to have to get that close with my throw, I'd rather just use the default grenade and light them on fire.

Last night in Trials practice, Squid confirmed it worked in PvP. He normally uses those grenades and he was surprised at how fast his recharge rate was. He also said he doesn't think it was always like this, must have been some glitch with HoW patches/updates. I can however remember seeing gunslingers in the past rolling from super to super. Maybe it was always there and we just don't notice because of how few folks run that specific combo.

I've been thinking about this a bit more, and I did some investigating. On DestinyTracker, on my Hunter, I have a K/D of 1.57, and K+A/D of 2.01, which are in the top 10% and 9% of players, respectively. However, I have 3.28 ability kills per game (for some reason not a tracked statistic), and also 3.80 orbs dropped per game, which is in the top 3% of players. For comparison, my Warlock has pretty much the same K/D, but only 2.92 ability kills per game, and only 1.98 orbs dropped per game (top 40%). Of course, it's way harder to get Super kills as a Warlock then it is as a Gunslinger, so it's hard to attribute everything to this grenade thing.
Also, since I've been running swarm grenades since the Beta, and have pretty much been using the Symbiote helmet since I got it month 1, it's disconcerting that I wouldn't have noticed this. But, I do seem to get my Golden Gun up pretty often. Now that I'm paying attention, it's hard not to notice. So who knows.

So I can wear Nighthawk to get a fast golden gun, but I only get one shot. Or I can wear gloves that specialize in trip mines but I have to use scatter grenades. Unless you lkke swapping armor in the middle of a game a lot I don't see it being that big of an advantage on those. Now archlyophage on the other hand...

Yeah, but you get that single shot a LOT more often than you used to get those 3 with the non-combo Hunter.
Holy balls, this is nuts.
After some testing, I can confirm: a super every minute is easily attainable with a high dis/int build, achlyophage, swarm grenades and gunfighter. Best time was about 25 seconds.
