So, as I was logging in for a quick game of Crucible last night, I had an achievement pop. My "Flawless Raider" finally decided to unlock. For those that weren't involved, about two months ago, I joined a 5 person raid with ChrisTheeCrappy, Zero, and a couple other DBO guys, thinking to myself, "eh, why bother sending a message, what bad could possibly happen?" Well, I joined, and immediately got a drop of shards/something. I thought this was pretty amusing, until I was invited into the party and heard the word "flawless", at which point I felt pretty horrible, since I had joined basically at the moment they were killing Crota without having died.

The party was a bit strained as I tried to decide how to respond to this. Some people were obviously a little upset, but others were trying to see the humor in the situation. Attempting to use humor myself, I cracked, "Well, what really matters is that you guys know you accomplished it."

Of course I needed to stick around and help them try it again. We were actually able to manage a flawless run on the first try, which is one of the most intense experiences I've had in Destiny (I desperately did not want to be the first to die). But, the achievement didn't pop immediately after we did it. There was some speculation on this forum about how long it took, and some of the guys had their's pop in the next week or so, but mine never did. I figured this was a pretty solid cosmic joke: now I had to listen to my own advice! Well, it finally popped, so there ya go.
