Gizmodo impressions of the new Xbox One Elite Controller (Off-Topic)
Sounds impressive... I just might need to pick one of these up.
I'm particularly interested in the little paddles on the underside of the controller. Would solve all those jetpacking bumper jumper issues :)
+1 finger button would fix most everything 4 me. Index FTW!

The more I read, the more I think it'll be worth the price

Beorn’s 45-second impression
I managed to finagle a few seconds with the Elite controller during my “off hours,” and I was pretty impressed by the fit and finish. I liked the new materials that they’re using for the underside (it’s like a grippy rubber/plastic). The paddles were weird at first, but their placement seems very good and I think I could get used to them quickly. Seemed pretty cool.
But $150 is just too damn steep. I think I put my ceiling for it at $99. Maybe it’ll go on sale for the Holidays….
Gizmodo impressions of the new Xbox One Elite Controller
My problem is not really the price. The problem is that I don't play my Xbox one very much. If I start playing it a ton with all the new Tom Clancy games then yeah I'll probably pick this controller up because it seems like it's pretty great. I'd love to go back to my accurate user name and huge friends list on Xbox. But if I continue to turn it on once a month I can't justify the expense.
The scuff controllers are the same price...
I want a head to head comparison before I buy either one. After two xbone controllers failing me this year, I don't trust Microsoft hardware at all. For that matter, add 5 360s to the failure list... why would I ever consider buying it over Scuf???

Thanks for the feedback on this. Did you get to try out the different thumbsticks? have you ever tried a scuf controller? I'm wondering how they compare especially on the placement of the additional paddles on the bottom.

Didn’t get to try the other thumbsticks -- the one at the booth just had the default sticks.
Never tried a scuf controller (haven’t heard of them), so not sure how things compare. The paddles on the Elite seemed to be well-thought-out, though. They also had a nice “click” action.
What are you doing to your controllers?!
I don’t think I’ve ever had an Xbox controller fail… The sticks get a bit wonky after a few years of play, so I’ve bought new replacement controllers, but none of them have ever just stopped working.
What am I doing to my controllers?
I have 3 Xbox One controllers:
1) Left stick drifts to the left - my Guardian will often start walking left if I leave the controller on the table.
2) Audio doesn't work. Which is a problem for communicating with my team.
3) Works. So far.
I don't throw them, or have dogs/cats/kids that would damage them. They slowly wore out in different ways.

2/5 of mine have failed. One of them will power down if you click the RB twice quickly. That made gears fun...
Wow, I must be lucky…

Same, both my controllers have never failed me.

I had a controller "fail me for the last time" recently but have never had one simply fail.
