This week's Trials of Osiris map, Thieve's Den, is loads of fun. Just completed a flawless victory with Cody and Ottermack, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The overall balance of the map is fantastic; neither spawn feels particularly advantaged or disadvantaged, enough diversity to allow all sorts of playstyles, and plenty of branching paths and routes around the map help make you feel like you always have options.

I recorded every one of our matches tonight. I'll cut them in to a single video and upload it tomorrow for anyone who wants to check it out,

Is anyone having fun with Trials who isn't worryingly good at it?

ToO is pretty much the only part of Destiny that is still fun for me, but holy cow is it fun. My buddies and I have a great time playing, but I've never done better than 4 wins. Still, we're at the point where almost every match comes down to at least 5-3, which makes me feel like we're on the cusp of success.

I mean, it's fun, cause it's a game, but it's not, like, actually fun, at least to me. Then again, I'm bad at Destiny.

I have a blast with it, and I'm alright at it. But yeah, it's more "worrying stress" fun than "fun" fun, but even when we get wiped I have a great time. I think it's the tension that sets it apart from other game modes (my first time playing it was comparable to the first time we got Flawless Raider in terms of the constant pain in my gut)...

I think Im good at PvP (I've gone Flawless with Cody and Chaos), but I have a harder time enjoying it with my regular, local Fireteam. Turns out our playstyles just don't gel as well in Trials as they do in other game modes, which means we struggle to gain momentum.

When it's fun it's real fun, but when it's not - noooooope.

Then again, I'm bad at Destiny.

...is that I know I'm not quite good enough. And I don't have a fireteam that's in my position. The people I play with are either "ick, no way I want to put in the effort to get better at PvP to play ToO, why why is that fun to you?" or they are the people like cruel, who are weekly going to the lighthouse with others, and making it look easy.

Add the difficulty I have scheduling something reliably friday-sunday and it's tough. Trials is something I'd like to play, but fireteam logistics and my own schedule make it unlikely to happen on a consistent basis.

So I really like the idea of trials, but I guess I fail at fireteaming. heh.

Also getting carried by two people who are noticeably better than me (Funk and unoudid) helps.

Sammy and I have a crappy schedule that makes it tough for us to run through it together, and sometimes one or the other isn't in the mood for such a long commitment... But if we're both online during Trials days, and we don't have anything scheduled, we'd be happy to run it with you. This weekend we'll be able to do it. We want that Titan chest (thanks to Otter showing it off every chance he gets -_-* ...), so join us!

Here's a video of our complete Flawless Victory run from last night.

We did suffer 1 loss last night (we had the Mercy buff, so it didn't prevent us from reaching the lighthouse) which I did not include in this video. I didn't remove it because we lost, but rather because it was a rather laggy and glitchy match. Not blaming that for our defeat, but it made the video less than helpful so I cut it.

Cody and I had almost no experience with this map going in, so it took us a few games to really find our groove. But by the 3rd or 4th game, we really picked things up and began to play well as a team.

Cody and I had almost no experience with this map going in, so it took us a few games to really find our groove. But by the 3rd or 4th game, we really picked things up and began to play well as a team.

We were the same way last night. It was my first time on the map (Sammy's second or third), so we were a bit of a mess at first, especially with how quickly the map plays (and the fact that literally every time I move the thumbstick I feel pain). As usual, we tested Cyber's patience. :P
Eventually we got into the groove of things, and were able to get the chest piece that we were after, as well as all of the reward packs (and this fun clip:
