Hey guys Blaze here. Been off the scene for a good 6 years or so (since the Halo 3 days. Trying to get back into the FPS game. Gotta ask how similar Destiny plays to Halo. Broad question I know, but I'd like to get an idea if I'll have a small feeling of similarity and comfort or if I'm in for a totally new experience. Sure this question has been asked about a thousand times, but I appreciate all input. Thanks.

It's a totally new experience that feels quite familiar. ;)

To me it feels a lot like the older Halo games. Or maybe I just feel more destructive. I fell out of playing Halo for a long time, but Destiny definitely has my interest.

The overall game structure is very different but the controls and gunplay immediately feels like classic Bungie Halo.

(Think Spartan, then add a charge-up superpower that can wipe out foes in an instant.)

Welcome!

I'm one of the old guys around here who played Marathon even before Halo. As for FPS, I only played Halo: for some reason, I could never get used to the sticks on other games in the genre. All that so you know where I'm coming from.

In my opinion, Destiny picks up right where Halo left off. With the exception of aiming down sights, the controls feel like a Halo game, and gameplay is just plain fun. I think that if you enjoyed Halo, you will enjoy Destiny.

Since nobody else said it, I think the speed will be the biggest change if you are coming straight from Halo. Halo is a lot slower of a game than destiny. Slower player movement; slower Ttk.

Yeah man long time. I miss those Halo 2 days, had a blast playing with you and Toddius and all the other people. Haven't thought about Masterchief in a long time haha.

I picked up Destiny but don't play it anymore. I would say from a multiplayer perspective Destiny plays pretty different from Halo, and it's a lot more limited in terms of gametypes etc. But it's not bad. It didn't hook me but plenty of other people seem to like it.
