They've probably got multiple sources, the noise needs to be removed, the volume normalized, etc, independent of multiple source video, which also needs to be synced up properly, and I don't expect they used a clapper.

I imagine it's more work than we think, or it would be up by now.

You actually *can't* noise reduce or normalize audio in Avid (which is the editing suite I use); your only controls are volume, gain, and then a smattering of fairly weak effects like reverb or echo. Audio sync, on the other hand, is pretty easy if you know what you're doing (though you're right - it's more work than just editing the source down and slapping some music under it; about twice as much, probably).

After I edit something, it passes on to the Audio Mixer who does all that noise reduction stuff. ProTools, that's what he uses.
