If we ever get our own "apartments" in the tower... (Destiny)

by CruelLEGACEY @, Toronto, Monday, July 06, 2015, 18:55 (3665 days ago)

... One request I've seen from many people is the idea of having our own "apartments" in the tower; a place we can display all of our gear, and perhaps trophies for our accomplishments, etc.

If a feature like this is ever added to Destiny, one silly little thing I'd love to see is space for us to display our gear in "sets". So there could be a display case dedicated to the Iron Banner, where you would see all of your IB armor and weapons together, another one for VoG, another for Crota, etc. This is a ridiculously trivial request, but some of the Assassins Creed games have done similar things with your various hideouts and homesteads, and I really liked it. It adds a nice sense of accomplishment; walking around your personal quarters with all your trophies nicely displayed. It's a fun way to enjoy some of the gear we've collected, but perhaps don't use so much anymore.

Just a thought.

...land there in the tower if you went with a fireteam--you'd spawn in the team lead's apartment.

and then have to run further to get your shopping done?

The apps show that visiting the tower is just using the slowest possible cursor to open screens.

Adding more travel time just exacerbates the problem.

Yeah, I'd visit people's rooms all the time...

Okay, okay, I'm likely only speaking for myself here :)

I think it sounds like a cool idea in concept, but when I think about putting it into practice, I don't see myself ever wanting to spend the time to load up someone's "apartment" unless they begged me endlessly to do it.

In the words of Alien "Look a' mah shiiit"

Just deleted an old IB chest though because I prefer the new one. Haven't got enough room to hold anything else and wait for a "maybe". Would rather they let us mix and match, so I can have some new and some old IB gear. I also have a "glamour" armour I like to wear when I'm posing in the Tower.

Sheesh, someone would to beg me endlessly to get me to go to my apartment! I care a bit about how my gear looks on my Guardian. I don't care how it looks on a wall.

No, I agree with you entirely. I wouldn't visit my OWN apartment, much less another person's. I know what that shit looks like, I've used it before. If I need to see it again, I can find a picture on Google, or pull it out of the vault if I still have it there. But if they honestly make it to where my old stuff is useless going forward, I'll keep a few of my very favorites, maybe, and shard/mote the rest of it. I don't care that I've spent time getting it all. If it becomes useless, then it's useless, why would I want to keep it?

Which is odd, because I've spent a stupid amount of time collecting books and weapons and armors and shit for my house in Skyrim or Morrowind.

I guess Destiny just isn't that sort of game to me.

It could be, if it had bottomless storage boxes.

Maybe Clan "apartments"?

Not to sound like a "Warframe does this already" Korny post, but you guys should definitely look into Warframe's Clan Dojos.

Nothing that big would fit well with Destiny (unless we get to use Sparrows in there), but the concept is pretty cool.
