Lack of Thorn (Destiny)

...I've seen relatively little Thorn. Nobody on my fireteam used it, and enemies were generally using other weapons, such as Messanger, MIDA, and Hawkmoon. I wonder if that's because this map is just really good in that you can position yourself right for a variety of weapons to be useful.

The more I think about it, the more I think this is exactly it. Last week I saw nothing but Thorn, this week I've seen hardly any. Nothing has changed except the map. And you're right... it's not like we're seeing any 1 single gun replace Thorn. Messanger, Mida, Hawkmooon, Scholar... also a good mix of shotguns and snipers.

Widow's Court seems to be a map that allows all sorts of playstyles at many different ranges, whereas the majority of the maps in Destiny seem to all favor the same engagement ranges (in which Thorn dominates). Maybe this is something we'll see more of in the future.
