Skolas takes it in the face. (Destiny)

Now that we have gotten the legal stuff out of the way, I'm just happy to say that Earendil, Wildthing and I beat Skolas on our second try last Saturday. And It was my first time fighting him.

And I'm here to say, I finally understand everything I've read on this forum about him :-)

He is tough, challenging, annoying as hell, fun, interesting. All of the things. But overall, I think Bungie made a great challenge for us guardians. All of the mechanics make sense, it took a lot of communication and teamwork and the lapse of one player didn't spell ultimate death for the other two, but it sure made it harder!

I wish I knew how long it took, but it was a bit skewed by the fact that before we started, I forgot that my Titan wasn't level 33 and so we had to beat lvl 34 PoE to get an etheric light to get myself to 34. Then we beat Skolas. All of this took us a little over 3 hours.

And I have to thank everyone here for all the information about Skolas before I actually fought him! It's all about the little things, that if we didn't know, would have taken us forever to kill him. I think the biggest thing that made it so easy for us was how well we passed off the plague. Don't get me wrong, there were times where I totally zoned out on the timer and was like "CRAP SOMEONE GET OVER HERE!! YOU HAVE 5 SECONDS!" Or where One of us died and the difference between the revive time and the plague was around 5 seconds oh and did I mention the the dead guy was in the middle of the map?

Fun times with Skolas. My only regret is that our first run, we played it so safe that when he was around 25% we didn't burst him down to finish him. And our saving grace is that after killing Skolas we actually listened to Wildthing(in ghost form) when he said "You still have to disable the mines!!"

TL;DR
Skolas is an awesome encounter and everyone should find two friends and be badasses.
