Looks like you will be able to keep your character for all subsequent sequels.
I hope I can change my dance

Hmm.
I wonder if we'll ever get the chance to update them, though. The initial creation options were really limited. While you obviously don't see those options very often, but it's still oddly important to me. I must create Guardian Taylor Swift.

Will I be able to add a beard?

This was announced pre-launch...
Here's an article from over a year ago: http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/07/21/destiny-will-likely-have-sequels-and-your-character-will-carry-over
"That's according to Bungie engineer Roger Wolfson, who told Digital Trends that the developer was keen to enable you to keep playing as your initial character right the way across the franchise."
That article also contained this gem:
"“Our goal for Destiny is that each time you play it, you’re going to have a different experience,” he said."
*snicker*
Anyway, definitely not news, and I'd be shocked if anyone actually thought Bungie wouldn't be doing this.

We definitely need beards!

A more important question:
Will I be able to mutate my current Guardian into the new Tigerman race Destiny 2 HAS to include?
