Popular Twitch streamer very insulting to deeJ. Video (Destiny)

I was trying to experience Twitch earlier and this guy was my first experience. Sounded like he had just smoked a doob, and was very vulgar. I switched to the next most popular Destiny broadcaster on at that time, Professor Dudebro. Better than this guy, but just AWFUL.

Watched some TheeChaos and PS4 people play games. Got bored. Twitch has not made a good impression. I mean the PS4 guys were fine, it was just like watching a YouTube video with a chat on the side.

Heard later that this first guy, WishYouLuckk, had joined the fireteam and told deeJ to suck his balls. He did, and posted the video. Then he said something about how he hoped he would become a reddit legend afterwards.

This was the most popular Destiny broadcast at that time. He had over a thousand people watching. He hopes to be a Reddit legend. This tells me a lot about the state of the non DBO Destiny communities.

Who would do that? Why would he do that? That's just a despicable thing to do. Yuck. Is there a history here I am missing?

I can't say I'm an expert on twitch or anything but I've watched it a fair amount and I've never heard of this guy before. Maybe that means nothing but I can at least say that he's not representative of the stuff I've seen on twitch. If stop number two was Professor broman, though you have a pretty shout-y Experiance there. Broman is typically happy or excited when shouting not crass or angry, but I don't care for much shouting in any of its forms.

As for finding it boring, well, there's nothing I can say about that. Either you like having somebody playing a video game live in your life, or you don't. When I watch I tend to have it on in the background as it is something I can phase in and out of while cleaning or folding laundry or whatever. You can also watch some pretty good players take on trials and see where patterns are forming this week, etc.

Yeah, that's crap. Even if he was just joking around, it is still crap. He is playing a game that brings him entertainment, joy, some fame?, and maybe in this guys case money in his pocket. He could at least be a little courteous.

I can totally see how Twitch is unappealing. It really isn't that exciting to watch for the most part. Most of the broadcasters come off as tools. I had brought it up a few days ago because I wanted to watch some of the top dawgs of DBO (or any DBoer really) play some trials. I wanted to hear their chat and see how they communicated. What were their strats? Where did they prefer to setup on a map? etc.

It was good fun watching Beorn, Korny, and DPW stomp their way to the lighthouse the other night. And I got a good chuckle at Beorn rocketing himself. I think Twitch is a good place where we could interact with our members and support each other. Like Vortech posted above, I like to have it in the background. I'll pop in and chat for a bit, then hit the forum, then send out some likes on a dating site, then google kittens. But yeah, you are likely not gonna watch it like TV.

I find it more akin to radio than TV.
I recently started watching Gothalion's stream and became quite hooked.
For me, it's not about the gameplay - it's about the personality of the player.
Gothalion's stream is like a radio phone in DJ.
Destiny is the 'playlist' if you like, and Gothalion responds directly to comments in chat a bit like a radio host taking calls.
Now whether you like his personality or not comes down to personal taste (just as it does with radio station DJs).
There are all sorts of 'flavours' - Triple Wreck is great if you like ultra competitive gameplay. Broskian is more laid back and chilled. Broman and Gothalion tend to be generally excited about everything. The Planet Destiny guys do some good streams too.
Poke around and you might just find a stream showing a style of gameplay you like with a streamer who has an interesting point of view on the topics raised in chat.

I watched quite a bit when HoW and Crota launched. IMO, the big names are big because they aren't terrible. There must not be a lot of money in streaming because no talented team/person seems to be doing it -- at least with destiny.

Side note: Now that it's easy to watch Twitch replays, there is almost no need to watch them live (exception is if streamer is tackling new challenge that hasn't been done before). There's really no reason to watch a bad streamer play IB, just watch an old one of TripleWreck, Goth, or whoever.

I said earlier that he is unwatchable.

I'm glad he went out of his way to prove me right.

I mean, respect to him for pulling it off though.

When I connected before he started doing the Bungie Bounty, I think he said "I'm going to make deeJ suck my nuts." And then I went to dudebro. I found out he did it and my first reaction was "man, it's cool that he pulled that off!" Then I thought about it for a minute. Yuck.

Consensus seems to be thaat this guy is just a dick

Lots of people saying he's constantly unpleasant to and about his audience and other streamers.

Trolls are real!

by TheeChaos @, Thursday, July 30, 2015, 09:43 (3503 days ago) @ Funkmon

Sorry to hear you didnt enjoy our stream!! Just joking of course.

Yes this guy is unpleasant. That is disrespectful. I will say things like that to friends in a joking manner, once we are on that level of friendship. I CANNOT stand people who start of like this. I have played with friends of friends and they say things like that thinking its funny. I stopped watching this guys streams.

Along with what everyone else was saying, someone said its like listening to the radio. I agree. Some people really enjoy it, for others its just there. Take what you can from it.

I just make a point to have friends that don't say crap like that to anyone.

Probably the best rule

I don't understand why he would even think that would be a funny thing to do.
