You know what looks a lot like a "Taken" version of a Vex Harpy?
The Gorgons.
Noticed this during our run through the vault last night.

Hmmmm.
I'm going to say similar in art only.
This game borrows heavily on the idea of frames and templates, and then details that are interchangeable like LEGO.
(example: Crota raid ship looks like aspect of glass, but with Hive doodads glued on)
But you never know, historically speaking they are pretty good at setting up little things like this that have larger implications down the road.
This is something I don't like about Destiny....it's too open ended. There is no timeline to the single player narrative and Raids. In terms of story (that means, ignoring Crota content as DLC), which came first: The defeat of Atheon, or the Defeat of Crota?
Does it matter?
I would be under the impression that it does for this to work out. We don't see the Taken until Crota is killed. So, in order for Oryx to have taken enemies in the VoG, that would mean Atheon raid takes place after Crota is killed, otherwise the Gorgon looking similar to taken wouldn't make sense other than from an artistic perspective.
Just my thoughts...

Don't ever watch Dr. Who

(The following rampant speculation is based on spotty memory and mis-interpretation. ... Let me know if anything I say is "true".)
The Vex have a strange relationship with time, and it seems strangest in the Vault.
- The Vault of Glass is either outside of time, or it connects the past/present/future. Or both.
- The Gorgons wipe you from existence - it is impossible to enter the Vault alone, but Kabr was alone in the Vault.
- Atheon sends you to the past and the future - if you are stuck on the other side of the portals, you are Lost Forever in the Corners of Time.
I also would like a better timeline of when things happen in Destiny, but I don't think that anything involving the Vault will benefit from a causal analysis.
Or, to quote The Doctor:
"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to affect, but actually, from a non-linear, non subjective point of view it is more like a big ball of wibbily wobbly, timey wimey...stuff."
Doctor Who (David Tennant) - Blink (S03E10)

I don't think Kabr was alone in there

I was under the impression that it seems like Kabr was alone because the other Guardians were erased from existence, so they made it at least to the Templar's Well.
Also, David Tennant is my Doctor. No substitutes accepted.

Precisely. I was trying to convey that by quoting (I think :) from the Grimoire card. I found the quote: "No one can open the Vault alone. I opened the Vault. There was no one with me but I was not alone."

Ah, yes, got it

At least we get to know their names. :)

Most people think time is like a river, that flows swift and sure in one direction. But I have seen the face of time, and I can tell you, they are wrong. Time is an ocean in a storm.

I just did some Googling to find out where this is from. Then some more to find out if the game is backwards compatible via 360. Now I'm going to eBay to try to find a copy...
It is such a great game. Heck, that whole trilogy is great. The second gets a lot of flack for being all grimdark and heavy metal, and it was a little ridiculous, but the puzzles are still great and the gameplay was fun.
Are they bringing this series back at some point? I know they've made two games since that trilogy (the really bright one was great, I thought, if only for how great it looked).
I'd love to see them give it another shot.
