Time keeps on slipping away. (Destiny)

There is no timeline to the single player narrative and Raids. In terms of story (that means, ignoring Crota content as DLC), which came first: The defeat of Atheon, or the Defeat of Crota?

Does it matter?

I would be under the impression that it does for this to work out. We don't see the Taken until Crota is killed. So, in order for Oryx to have taken enemies in the VoG, that would mean Atheon raid takes place after Crota is killed, otherwise the Gorgon looking similar to taken wouldn't make sense other than from an artistic perspective.

(The following rampant speculation is based on spotty memory and mis-interpretation. ... Let me know if anything I say is "true".)

The Vex have a strange relationship with time, and it seems strangest in the Vault.

I also would like a better timeline of when things happen in Destiny, but I don't think that anything involving the Vault will benefit from a causal analysis.

Or, to quote The Doctor:

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to affect, but actually, from a non-linear, non subjective point of view it is more like a big ball of wibbily wobbly, timey wimey...stuff."
