Is this auto rifle worth using?

I've never been much of an auto rifle guy in destiny, but last night I got this from a nightfall. With the upcoming changes to the sandbox, is this worth using for PvP? Can it be rerolled into something better?
It was my first Xbox Legendary, and I got plenty of mileage out of it (still have it, too).
Has some higher recoil than you'd probably like (but good stability), but mine has Focus Fire and Glass Half Full, so it's basically a Suros Regime Lite. With the upcoming changes, it's going to wreck, since as far as Auto Rifles go, it's probably one of the best in class for this DLC cycle.
Focus Fire is a horrible perk

On that archetype at least. Just a straight-up DpS reduction. Potentially the "longer" magazine might increase your sustained DpS, but I'd have to test it and it seems unlikely. Even if true, it would only apply to high-health targets you can empty multiple magazines into.
Yuck.

DPS isn't everything. If it were, everyone would be favoring ARs over hand cannons right now.

True. TTK matters too, which Handcannons excel in. But Focus Fire gives you a slower TTK as well as reduced DpS iirc. I'l have to double check, but from memory the damage increase is so low that on a Shingen archetype the TTK increases from 1.2s to 1.33s.
Plus the comparison is unfair vs handcannons. It's easier to manage recoil on handcannons, they have larger (damage-equivalent) magazines and all the frequently used ones have great perks. DpS is pretty much the ARs saving grace - the last thing you want is to decrease it.

I suppose that could be true, if the fire rate is decreased by a greater factor than what the damage is increased by. It's probably difficult to just compare percentages since they're moving in opposite directions. One would have to, as you said, actually calculate the DPS AND TTK (BTW, Bungle, great job naming your new expansion so that it has an acronym that's already in widespread use in the Destiny community - LOL) for each scenario to really get a feel for it.

You might have actually hit upon the main reason I've always felt more effective with Focused Fire than without it. With it, I'm typically nailing more headshots. It might be that not having focused fire does more theoretical damage, but depending on how unstable that particular weapon is, you might also be missing criticals too much for it to matter. That one will obviously vary depending on the weapon and its other perks. Hitting a string of headshots with a Shadow Price is a different matter than doing it with an Unwilling Soul.

Next up: Destiny: Darkness Plans Something :p

Focus Fire is a horrible perk

Focus fire lets you chose for this enemy whether you want to have a high RoF stream of damage, or to place fewer rounds that have higher impact - like changing from an Auto Rifle to a Scout Rifle mid-fight. I love Scout Rifles and Hand Canons, so I love that perk.

Hip fire could be a Tier1 ability in the new AR Meta.

Since the damage on AR's will now be tied to range, being closer to an enemy will increase DPS on your AR. And if you find it easier to aim from the hip at close range, this could be pretty handy.
That said, current legendaries, especially those without elemental burn, may not be especially usefull in the new meta. If you have room, you could consider keeping it if you like the way it looks, but I wouldn't expect it to be very effective in PvE in the future. It might be handy for PvP though?
Just realizing you were asking about PvP...reading comprehension grumble grumble...keep it if you have room.

His has perks that benefit both short and long range (Rangefinder), so it's one of those "you can't lose" rolls. I'd keep it as is.

All kinda depends on how effectively they buff AR's.

If you like AR's though, yeah, that's a good one.

So, I bought one of these guns and I thought it was going to be amazing. I wasn't that impressed, but then I found another one that has:
Two stability perks at the cost of range. So it would be a sweet mid range killer.
Then I found a "Her Right Hand" which at first I was like "it's a Queens gun, it's gonna be crap" but after looking at the perks, it looks like it's a Suros for sure.
It has Focus fire
Increase to range (which doubles it) at the cost of Stability
But it also has another stability perk.
So I might actually have to start rocking Her Right Hand now

I think so.

I enjoy using it. Auto Rifles still have a long TTK, but I like using them from time to time. This is a great one for PvP and frees up an exotic slot for something else.
