Skipping Spoilers

I think I'm not going to watch any of these. The first stream was okay, since it didn't really spoil content. I think I'd rather just do the strike myself when it comes out, especially if the strikes have mini raid mechanics as I have been hearing.

I'm going to have it on but not watch it, just listen to it. That way I can be surprised by what things look like and where to go and probably some other things but still hear what they have to talk about. Lest we forget, this time they're talking about those swords we noticed at the end of the last stream.

Spoilers don't bother me

by naturl selexion, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, 01:03 (3475 days ago) @ Cody Miller

I never seem to remember the spoilers when I actually play the game, just like when I watch a movie I'm not thinking about what I saw in a trailer.

As long as there are no major plot twists revealed these "spoilers" don't actually spoil anything for me.

Story wise, why would we stop the Cabal from blowing up the ship?! Wouldn't that make killing Oryx that much easier? I say let them destroy the core and give me a vacation.

I mean if the mission is post us killing Oryx, and our only goal is to preserve the technology, then why not?

Unless you think the hive deal with things best not known. then by all means help the cabal plant those planet crackers.

How I predict the strike to end:

The boss is a large cabal in green armor. He is running around the room opening exhaust couplings so that he can fire rockets into the ship's fusion drive cores. Your task is to close the exhaust couplings and kill him before he detonates three cores, which causes a wildcat explosion of the engines.

Named Valus Rek'Lymr, of course.

Theory

by Earendil, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, 21:19 (3475 days ago) @ Cody Miller

The cabal plow through things with (seemingly) little regard for loss of life. We know they are going to fail, but in doing so they will all be taken by the King, making our lives that much harder. We go in now because it'll be easier to kill them before they are taken.

I would assume they are going to detonate it near something important or detonating it causes some sort of nastiness to be flung into the galaxy.

Kind of like how blowing up Halo would have just spread the flood out even more? Because you know, if blowing it up would kill them all, then the Halos only had to be built to self destruct to protect the galaxy.

The infestation at 04 was localized. Plus we didn't know that much about the flood at the time. Wiping out humanity vs saving humanity (as we know it, anyways. the ark would have reseeded the galaxy) was the MC's goal. They needed a ship to spread, we denied them that, and saved humanity.

well, Nolan stated that he hadn't played Destiny, nor listened to any Dinklage dialogue beforehand. I'm sure most of what you are hearing is synthesized in post by Bungie.

It's just missing a bit of that subtle eccentric tone, and maybe not quite as heavily filtered.

So, after watching this I miss Dinklebot already. Probably because he's familiar to me & Nolanbot is new & different. Nolanbot isn't the ghost that accompanied me through my adventures culminating in the destruction of the heart of the Black Garden. Makes me glad they rerecorded the vanilla destiny lines so I can change that by rerunning the story missions (in revised order) with Nolanbot.
