Questions about update 2.0 (Destiny)

by Schedonnardus, Texas, Monday, September 07, 2015, 16:54 (3462 days ago)

Hey everyone. As many of you know, i have rural internet with a monthly cap. I always take my XBONE into town to my brother in-laws to get updates.

Just wondering if anyone knows what time of day the update will drop? Also, if I drop my box off before work and turn on automatic updates, will Destiny update? It seems that Destiny always updates in-game (not from the dashboard) so i wonder if that would even work?

It would be nice to just drop my box off, then pick it up after work. If not, then i guess i'll run to his place at lunch and start the download (if its out by then).

It sounds like it will be "before noon on the west coast" so probably around the usual 10am pst time. Could be before or later.

I've seen statements from Bungie that all you have to do is leave automatic updates on but I'm a bit skeptical on that. All the updates before may have had a title update but I've always had to download the content in game. I'll leave my box connected with updates turned on just in case, but I'm fully expecting to come home, launch Destiny, and then have to wait for content to download. Fortunately I have good bandwidth so it shouldn't take too long.

If you mean streaming, yes

When you are streaming a game, it's literally running on the Xbox--so if you start up a game that requires an update, it will perform the same update procedure as if you were local to the system and trying to play.

If you're talking about some other feature of Windows 10, then you'll need to elaborate
