This, I guess. (Destiny)

So I logged in earlier today to grab the update, so I'd be able to play tonight.

Something went wrong with the update - I got a message saying that Destiny Compatibility Pack 8 was corrupted, and couldn't be installed. No worries - things go wrong. I eventually got back to the main screen, and hit A to start again.

I couldn't start again.

I was stuck at the 'confirming data' stage, pretty much permanently. (I let it go for quite a while before I started to look for alternatives.)

So... what should I do instead?

This just happened on my 360. At the Destiny splash screen I got a screen that honest to god looked like a Linux bootloader that said "oops something bad happens" then content verification fails, and it says "please re-download".

But there's no way to do that. Other than the way you did, by deleting the title update.

Okay... I found one incomplete "Destiny Compatibility Update #07" and cancelled the download,, then deleted the incomplete file. Destiny appears to be updating again now, although the "Something bad happened" bootloader screen still flashes on start.
