On the final quest for the striker where you have to generate 7 orbs with your fist of havoc 3 times. I was having some MAJOR issues finishing this part last night.
I equipped Crest of Alpha Lupi since it has the generate extra orbs perk. I figured that would be a huge benefit for this. For whatever reason I could only ever create 5 orbs max while it was equipped. Once I switched to a different piece of gear I could easily generate 7 orbs when I killed a major plus some other enemies.
Has anyone else experienced this? or was I really just having that bad of luck with it? I'm wondering if there were some issues added once they changed the max orb generation details in the game.

People were using super generating exotics and going to the Nexus, in the hallway where the vex come, and smashing them, washing, repeat. You can die between this.

I pulled the jerk move and went and farmed the 3 gold bar hive in the Steppes during the Devil's Lair strike. If you have a fireteam of 3 doing either of these methods then you should be golden.

Now shouldn't you have waited to complete those quests due to the fact that you are not gaining any of the experience you would be toward leveling on the 15th?

The endless XP grind of Destiny says no.
I'm thinking there's a chance you have to finish these quest lines before you can start working on your third sub-class. I'm probably wrong, but that was my thinking behind finishing these ASAP.
There will always be ways to get XP.
