2.0 Changes Not In the Patch Notes (Destiny)

by Xenos @, Shores of Time, Wednesday, September 09, 2015, 14:01 (3460 days ago)

Not including new content, here is a list of things I've found so far that are not in the patch notes:
* Weapon perks now trigger audio cues and HUD icons when their perks activate. And some even activate visual effects on the weapons themselves (eg: Outlaw shows an icon and countdown timer along with an audio cue. Hawkmoon even makes a sound when a lucky bullet occurs)
* Patrol has difficulty options
* Missions difficulty options have been changed, no pre-TTK difficulties beyond the default
* The Stranger's Rifle is now a legendary weapon that can be Ascended to Year 1 Max using 25 Legendary Marks
* Icebreaker maintains charge upon death
* Bungie can hide selected items from the database
* Dismantling Black Hammer gives you a rune to turn in to Eris for Crota's Bane Rep
* You no longer lose ammo changing activities
* (Unconfirmed) Exotic engrams exist as a physical engram
* Partially leveled items are now fully leveled (bubbles still need to be "completed"). Completely unleveled items apparently stay the same
* Weapons take longer to ready after blinking
* Can no longer kill yourself by shooting your foot in shallow water
* Font changes
* More inventory slots for consumables and materials.
* Featured Guardians and playlist descriptions in the Crucible Director
* Enemies spawns seem to have been adjusted, player location doesn't seem to affect spawning as much (if at all).
* Orb generation has been adjusted. Majors produce half the orbs, regular enemies seem to produce less as well.
* You can now revive dead teammates at the end of an activity
* ADS at ammo boxes reveals timer from greater distance relative to the power of the sight used
* Three motes of light earned every 25,000 experience. Previously one every 80,000.
* Can shoot axion bolts to stop them. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PZjLQqW9x0)
* Activity summary now shows Orbs Created instead of Orbs Collected

Small list of things we knew about but were not mentioned in the patch notes:
* Swap weapons on your back in social areas with Y/Triangle
* Eris has been moved to the Hall of Guardians
* Updated model for Amanda Holliday
* Collections (Shaders, Emblems, Ships, and Emotes)/blueprint/abandoned quest kiosks added
* Pulling left trigger on inventory shows element of each weapon

Know of any I'm missing? Let me know and I'll add them!

In regards to auto completed item leveling...

by EffortlessFury @, Wednesday, September 09, 2015, 14:29 (3460 days ago) @ Xenos

I had a few unleveled items that were still unleveled when I logged in this morning.

Was it armor or weapons?

Avatar

Were they completely unleveled or somewhere midway?

by ZackDark @, Not behind you. NO! Don't look., Wednesday, September 09, 2015, 14:42 (3460 days ago) @ EffortlessFury

Completely unleveled stuff remained that way. Stuff that had even a tiny bit of XP into them now have all nodes available.

They also seem to get a shine sometimes for something like Reactive Reload. Monte Carlo's sound really helped, because I'm always checking the charge, and now I don't really need to, so I can focus more on the fight.

* (Unconfirmed) Exotic engrams exist as a physical engram

You do get your rewards from the Court of Oryx as engrams, so this makes sense.

* Unleveled items are now leveled (bubbles still need to be "completed")

Not all, it seems, and apparently not the gear in the vault, I think.

* Swap weapons on your back in the Tower with Y/Triangle

They did point that out before launch, but it was indeed not in the patch notes.

* Weapons take longer to ready after blinking

That took a little bit to get used to, but it's a minor change.

Know of any I'm missing? Let me know and I'll add them!

Patrol has a difficulty setting.

Apparently Wolves have been added to Mars, but I can't confi.

I think Public Event Targets have had their health reduced. One guy and I killed one of the Cabal targets in less than ten seconds using a Monte Carlo and a Gjallarhorn.

Eris has been moved to the Hall of Guardians.

Amanda Holliday now has a different, more detailed character model.

Collection/blueprint Kiosks added.

Patrol has a difficulty setting.

That was the second one I mentioned :) But thanks for the others!

OPPS.

Enemy spawns in patrol no longer factor in player proximity with their spawn rate, and can come out of their spawn zones even if players aren't nearby to trigger them.

Orb generation from Majors had been halved (two orbs instead of four).

I think all orb generation may have been halved. I forgot to switch off of Nighthawk when doing the orb part of the Gunslinger questline and got 0 orbs for killing a normal enemy.

I think it is too. Also you're capped at 8 now I think. With the Crest of Alpha Lupi I was still only getting 8 orbs despite killing 5 majors at a time in the Undying Mind.

I didn't type any of this (heck, I haven't even touched my Hunter), but it was attached to my post. Xenos, you poking around the Edit Post button?

Bah sorry about that, didn't even notice I did it, but I fixed it.

Was Respawn timer in Crucible mentioned?

by BeardFade ⌂, Portland, OR, Wednesday, September 09, 2015, 14:59 (3460 days ago) @ Xenos

Found that to be the most annoying thing last night that I now had to wait a few more seconds to get back into the action. I thought that timer was only increased for Skirmish, didn't realize it was global.

Didn't see anything about general Crucible. I know it's longer in Rift, but that's all I played so I can't confirm for anything else.

2.0 Changes Not In the Patch Notes

There's a heap of new dialogue and audio tweaks. 'Jumping' between planets has a new kick to it at the start. Lots of new random dialogue like when you start a Patrol or progress in a quest (new Fillion lines have already made me chuckle).

There's also the new 'overcharge' and mystery Patrol missions. I also think there might have been new enemies added to the Eliminate Target Public Events, but maybe I've just randomly never seen them before.

More slots in Inventory screen. New featured Guardians (and playlist descriptions) in the Crucible Director.

Switch weapons in Social areas (though that's been mentioned before - just not in the patch notes).

...Not sure if this is even the stuff you're looking for...

A lot of these are new content, which I'm avoiding (since there is bound to be a TON), but a couple of those are good things to add. (Also I already have the switch weapons thing in the notes :)

it appears now Nova Bomb has a target reticule when you bring you arm back to show you opponents the other end of the void. I'm pretty sure that wasn't there before, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Pulling left trigger in the Character screen displays icons showing which Elemental damage each weapon (and character subclass) inflicts.

-- Steve likes this but doesn't think it's a game-changer.
