Got my first No Mercy in Rift. (Destiny)

It's interesting to see the mercy rule in play. On one hand we were decimating the other team, but on the other I kinda like those steamroll occasions.
This was Rift on Bannerfall, first time playing it and it is a BEAUTIFUL map. Think it's gonna be one of my favorites. Got to dunk the spark too, lots of fun with this hectic gametype!

I think we all like being the Steam Roller... :)
It's for the poor saps on the other team. I had 1 no mercy game in Rift last night, it was pretty satisfying, and I am sure for the other team it felt... Merciful.

Haha, yeah I get why the rule is in place, I'm just thinking I'm gonna miss those, somewhat rare, instances of being the heavy end of the hammer.
Also, I think it's settled, Rift is my favorite gametype.
I like this new rule

There was one game on Pantheon where me and someotherguy were with 4 randoms against a team of 6. The team of six kept smacking us and basically were in our spawn and had the spark. so it got to the point where I would either die in my spawn, or spawn too far away to get back. Needless to say it was like 12000 to 2000 or something really fast. Glad that ended.
On the other side, we kept getting VERY close to the mercy rule, but wouldnt ever get it.
Rift feels very All or Nothing

I think the closest game we saw all night was a 6000 point difference. It seems very easy for the game to start snowballing.
Probably best played in full Fireteams.

I did have some closer matches, and a few swings from being behind by a good amount. But, yes, I think a fuller fireteam is more helpful.
If a team has control of the map, and/or is a lot better at killing, this mode can swing in one teams favor very quickly. Quick comebacks are also possible because of how quickly points can be gained, but if one team is significantly better, it will be obvious.

I've been having a lot of very close games.

The one I just played had a 235 point difference. When these games are close, they're so fun!
On the occasions they HAVE snowballed for me it's definitely been when we've not worked as a group - with people not guarding the Spark Runner, or folks charging off on their own despite a ton of opposition... that'll likely improve in time as people get a better grip of the gametype (I hope).
