So, the "Fate of All Fools" is now "The Jade Rabbit". (Destiny)

I watched the Echo Chamber stream that TheeChaos mentioned yesterday, and at one point they skim over the Jade Rabbit in the inventory, revealing that its stats, ammo count, and exotic perk are the same as the Fate of All Fools (although the JR has a much higher reload speed).

It's interesting, and makes me wonder if the FoAF no longer exists. It was to be a HoW weapon, but disappeared without a word from Bungie. Now we have a weapon with the same stats and exotic perk (body shots stack damage on the next headshot and returns ammo to the mag), and it's the Playstation exclusive.

notes:

Enemies get a red glow when you have them in the sights. Good way to locate snipers, but I wonder if it works on cloaked enemies.

I wonder if the chained shots carry over between reloads. The magazine size is crazy small, although other gameplay videos have shown that it's a three-shot kill in PvP. This has the potential to add a Hawkmoon-like meta, where you have to be smart about reloads. Seems odd that they'd go out of their way to remove the Magic bullet from Hawkmoon, if they were going to add it to another weapon (although, admittedly we haven't seen just how much damage can be stacked onto a single shot, but taking the Extended Mag into account...).

No Time To Explain may be what happened to the original Exotic concept. Maybe FoAF was the upgrade path for TSR at some point?

Fate of All Fools is technically different. It also has an ammo regen thing. They may have nerfed it, then put it in as Jade Rabbit, but are letting BkBunny and her husband keep theirs. They said their stats now match exactly, and the perk works, but they have the extra ammo thing. I forget exactly what that is though.

Anyway, yeah, for all intents and purposes, you're probably right.

Totally forgot, but yeah, Jade Rabbit also has the ammo regen thing, further confirming my suspicion. I'll update my post with that, thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, the signature perk for JR is Fate of All Fools. So...

The Jade Rabbit [Bungie Armory] [DestinyDB]
Fate of All Fools [Bungie Armory] [DestinyDB]

Their stats are basically the same, but the Jade Rabbit has higher impact and smaller mag size. And of course them both having the "Fate of All Fools" perk is pretty suspicious.

I don't know if I would say that JR is "now" FoAF, I just think they wanted a similar exotic but weren't exactly happy with the original version of it. And instead of taking away or modifying the one they gave out to tRiFecTa01, they created a new exotic that was more balanced.

They have the same Mag size (7), but it bumps up to 13 with Extended mag:

Also, FoAF does solar damage... Who knows? It would be awful strange to have two nearly identical exotics (although the year 2 exotics are basically variants of the Year 1 versions).
Wish we could get an explanation from Bungie on what happened, since FoAF is functional within the game world (the perk bugs aside).

It doesn't do solar damage anymore, they removed that about 5 months ago, I think.
