For mindless Destiny Xbone playing, Windows 10 is great. (Destiny)
For serious. If you're playing by yourself, it beats the snap app hands down. You can play, get your bounties/level up them dumb guns, watch a documentary and read HBO, all on one screen. You don't have to have the über nerd set up of the TV there, then the PC next to you and a swivel chair.
Now, you can kill time while you're killing time!

+1, can confirm
Personally, I keep the controller sync'd to the Xbox itself instead of the PC, so I can lose window focus and still play the damn game... Seriously, MS, what else would I use my controller for?

Wow, that's awesome. And I have to switch constantly since I play my Xbox and computer on the same screen.
So how does this work?

Just resize the Xbox stream window and then do other stuff.
If you can't get Xbox streaming to work on Windows 10, you may not have an active or legitimate copy. I originally bought my computer as a kind of barebones thing so it didn't come with Windows. I installed a real disc copy of Windows 7 I've had for years and upgraded it, but it was considered illegitimate so I couldn't get streaming to work. I just called them and told them what's up and they gave me a new license key thing.
