Can confirm. I took a calligraphy class in college. I'm not left handed, but one of the other students in there was, and it's rough trying not smear the ink and such. Looked awful.

It was a really fun class. I never got that good, though. I do still have my giant book of scripts and how to do them somewhere.

I've been told I have nice handwriting (it used to be nicer before a hand injury I got in my 20s), but the smearing has always been an issue, especially with fountain pens, which I love (as Funkmon knows). The newer, quick-drying inks help.
