S.A.B.E.R? More like M.A.D.D (Destiny)

There's some serious Marathon throwback in that strike. That final room is straight out of Defend THIS!

The first time I ran it was with two randoms who had also never ran it. Yakety Sax should have started playing while we were in the bunker. We had no idea what we were doing so we ran in circles for about 20 minutes.

It was so good though! I love how the spots in the room that you use as cover at the start of the fight become dangerous to you as the fight progresses.

I'm just rolling we had a fucking shank boss. Especially after the burns from HoW.

Seriously, though, that strike was amazing and I would love to see this trend continue.

Heh, imagine it on Arc burn.

I had to resort to Light Beyond Nemesis to keep myself, Narc and Blackstar alive long enough to keep revive each other. So much fun! I hope the other strikes are this good.

I said out loud to my fire team "this is like marathon", but it was because of the secret little tunnels that you find by shooting the walls. Actually, it's like a lot of old games of that era, but marathon always had a lot of them. I remember walking along the walls spamming the "enter" key looking for hidden passages. Tonight we simply shot the place up :)

Actually the high-flying ones are more trouble-- the sniper shanks that come out of the doors in the walls up near the ceiling.

In marathon, the low flying defense drones are hacked by the S'pht and fly at you like the exploding shanks. The high flyers are on your side. The mission you encounter said jihadbots is called "Beware Low Flying Defense Drones".

Pretty sure narcogen is familiar with it. :)

I love this thread because the first thing I thought of when meeting that enemy was the juggernaut aka The Big Floaty Thing What Kicks Our Asses.

Did anyone else catch the old bungie game reference of Pathways into Darkness?

I think it was on the mission where you place the beacons on the dreadnought...

Cayde said something to the affect of "So I was going to tell you more about this but Eris walked up to me and kept going on about Pathways in the Darkness or something, I didn't listen to much to her..."

Which was funny because as soon as I heard the "Pathways in the Darkness" a red light went on in my the back of my head.

Here’s the video clip. :) It’s at the end of the Race patrol beacon event.

I was playing with a friend when I caught this and immediately started geeking out when he mentioned Pathways into Darkness. I had to explain it to him which, of course, doesn't convey the cool factor.
